BORDERSCOT 3,816
I'm in the doghouse tonight alongside my greyhound bitch...she's never looked at my wife's chickens since she's been here...not even so much as a frustrated sideways glance...but today...for whatever reason, maybe the heat got to her, she galloped past the window with a hen in her mouth...one pissed off wife, one dead hen and one sheepish greyhound...and one set of satisfied ferret kits... Butter wouldn't melt...think the 'free ranging' greyhound might need to be curtailed meantime... 6 Quote Link to post

morton 5,369
Once owned a Grey that was as safe with stock as any dog ive owned,on permission in front of the landowner it galloped after an Hare, bent and turned it and went out of sight over a rise, came back a few moments later with a lamb in its chops, pardon the pun.Fortunately the lamb was returned to the ewe unharmed, the dog received a lesson in manners and went back to basics for a while and it never happened again. Tyla 3,179
Exactly the same has happened to me twice, once with a terrier and once with a my lurcher pup. My wife only has four chooks at a time and they are pets as much as anything. You would've thought I'd killed them myself the way she carried on! Quote Link to post
