title caught my eye,have you actualy seen water voles on that stretch of canal?iv not seen one for thirty years almost but had them regular on the drainage ditches on romney marsh where i grew up to the point of them being quite common,great little things to watch although iv never seen them on canals.

photos coming on sure i can make out some water fowl of sorts in a couple of them

when i was a kid we use to hunt them daily with terriers and air rifles thinking they were water rats, they were as common as sparrows, there is still a few about but getting a photo is another thing
