I think them Arabs like the white and cream ones because they don't overheat so much when running in the sun like the Black and Tan ones do, it's like when people say you shouldn't wear a black t shirt in the sun because it attracts and absorbs the heat more than white does

be going for smooth dogs aswell then for areodynamics :laugh::laugh:
the smooth dogs don't overheat as much as the feathered aswell, a lot of smooth saluki saturated lurchers are better stickers than feathered ones but you would think it would be the other way round

feathered ones usually mountain regions where its colder in evening and grounds wrecks feet hence featering between toes to cushion, smooths in hotter areas, Lennie looks the dabs of some of the coo dogs in a book I have honest he looks more saluki than cruise of shildon lol the books full of real old pics some first Europeans to come across em , so you deffo on right track ,mate

I have to agree with that last post...a pal of mine and his wife are saluki judges...she at championship level...what has this to do with working dogs you ask? Well they have a whole treasury of letters and photos of working type salukis from around the globe and when I first pored over these 20 odd years ago I was struck by the strength and unshowlike ( new word I just invented ) make up of the breed once you step outside of the k.c. standard type of dog we all think of.
