Nik_B 3,791
Seems to me BASC don't do anything to support country sports and people. It just seems there for the Game shooter, Not sure who I'll be getting insurance through next year but it wont be BASC. Maybe the CA...but they also seem a bit spineless. sac`s do it with the rest of us in januray and get £9 club discount £26 for the year Yeh I screwed up and forgot to cancel my membership to basc. I don't even hunt with dogs but it really annoys me the way our shooting/fishing associations are willing to throw other groups of hunters to the wolves. Do they really believe that they're going to get any credit from the antis for doing this? We don't need 10 different associations in this country we just need one that covers all kinds of field sports and doesn't bend over at the first bit of pressure. The political climate and anti pressure would be too much even for one large association to withstand however this doesn`t mean the ones we have now have to jump into bed with them at every opportunity

B.P.R 2,798
Why waste your time with BASC? Go with somebody that will actually back you up and support you.... SACS.

Even fishing will get it's turn once they've finished off the dogmen and move on to the shooters. I like the style of the NRA in America. They don't budge on anything. If you just take the shooting organizations in the UK for example there is the Small bore association, the NRA (fullbore) then you've got the clay shooting one plus BASC and the CA and then NGO SACS etc why we need so many that don't seem to work together is beyond me. Does anyone know how many of them showed solidarity when the ban on hunting with dogs came in to force?

They will all go with the current political climate and advise on things that are not going to rock the boat, licensing laws, general license, snaring ect but for one of them to touch the bigger issues it would be suicide for them given how things are at the minute, all was lost politically with the ban so there hands really are tied, none of this excuses there behaviour towards lamping and other fringe fieldsports
