gnasher16 31,602
I think he was a unbelivable fighter only lost once in something like 72 fights till the rematch with leonard. loved the fight with iran barclay when at 37 or so won the middle weight title. 6 months or so before that fight must of been late ,s Duran was in London i watched him spar Nigel Benn..........Duran was out of shape and flabby,Benn hadnt won a title yet but was in great nick as he had a fight coming up.........it was only a light spar but Duran made him look silly in parts his sheer ability and movement was unbelievable......as you say at 37 !! Duran sparring with Nigel Benn - Not the best quality but better than nothing... Blimey...i didnt know there was footage of that....just shows aint no secrets these days

Moore wasn't expected to have too much hassle with Duran that night. Duran was on fire and was brutally efficient...not taking anything at all away from Duran's performance but referee Ernesto Mangana let Duran away with murder...it shoulda been and coulda been stopped long before it was - watch the ringside crowd and you'll notice Jose Torres who was NYC boxing commisioner at the time going ballistic and screaming for Mangana to call a halt...Moore never came back from that - never the same again and he died in a freak accident with his car at his home - he was only in his late 20's... Ive never seen that clip before its good to watch simpy because i remember how out of shape he was.......but if you look at the last few minutes where he,s just moving around shadow boxing.......his footwork and upper body movement are something else so smooth.....
