The Breeder 156 Posted March 22, 2013 Report Share Posted March 22, 2013 there are clever smart terriers then there are head strong firey terriers that dont think as much just drive on there are all types and some of these types can come from the one litter.lets say you put your great terrier in he hits solid cant get trough but keeps trying to get on but its not happening you dont no this as your getting the same reading on the box and dig down 5 foot to a terrier trying to get on but its never going to happen but on the other hand you have the other terrier that thinks this is not working so shows on top runs around then drops on the spot and you get your dig.now i no what terrier i would choose. ino a dogs not gonna sit barking at a fooking root now is he????? hes guna get past or come on and be keen to get in again not stand sniffing haha,,,, that's were you should no you're dog... please tell me what your meaning of a working terrier is??? I lost a good fox bitch this season in roots we all know a fox can get where a dog can not if his bitch came out but want straight back in she was most probably frustrated and tried to get a better position and a dog can not dig through big roots ? 2 Quote Link to post

fat man 4,741 Posted March 22, 2013 Report Share Posted March 22, 2013 Gouldy you state that a farmer would not be a happy man if 3-4 holes were droped,well where did the man say he droped 3-4,he actually said he got a mark at .5 and letf it a while and new the bitch was not quite there but his bro started to dig and bitch showed.He then entered the pup and again just was gona start a dig and again pup showed and was lifted and he noticed that the pup had made contact in this particular place so entered bitch again where she went on to find and reach her quarry,end off,1 hole dropped,quarry accounted for.If she had stayed in the 1st place they would probably have dug down to her with nothing there only she blocked by roots and would more than likely have made room for her to get by with the possibility of her meeting more roots further on with again another drop,so in the end the field would look like a bomb site and maybe no result at the finish.I actually think the bitch used her brain and experience to locate the fox,not as if she spewed it and would not go back in,she took the handiest route to her quarry.
