Hi guys just wondering wich is best not wanting to buy one just wanting to know people's opinions on how accurate they are and how they shoot and wich they prefer. Thanks,jack

truth is there probably both as good as eachother in slightly different ways. some people will prefer ghe HW some the AA

it boils down to how well it fits the owner. and what they want from their rifle.

Its down to personal preference mate. The TX is basically a tuned rifle out the box, but the 97 is a good gun as it comes, but after a tune, is a superb gun.

Any of them are very good rifles.

Id say straight out the box the TX is the better and nicer looking rifle, probably the easiest to shoot accurately too due to it being like a semi tuned rifle straight from the factory.

Tune a HW97KT properly and it still will be the worst looking of the 2 in my opinion but id say the far smoother rifle by far and the easiest to shoot accurately due to whats going on inside when fired.

I own a AA Pro Sport but as good as it is and it is pretty awesome, for me the best springer straight out the box its not a patch on my tuned HW97KT or ever will be mate in all honesty.

I shot Simon's ( Pianoman's) HW97KT a few months ago and even though it was un tuned and as he puts it the inners were a little rough for Weihrauch's own and usual standards, it put every pellet where I aimed when down at Old Down Pursuits knocking down targets from 5 yards right out to 50 yards in the zeroing range showing its pure potential.

Well you heard it from Si here, my Hw97KT is superbly accurate but it is running rough. That's down to a slipping in Weihrauch's quality standards of late with a poorly cut factory spring. But intrinsically, it is a superbly accurate rifle and in the right hands, it's as accurate as it can be. Once it's had Tony Wall's Sandwell kit installed by Andy here, and slipped into an early HW77 stock which I prefer. it will be smoothed out into a devastatingly accurate rifle.

 

The TX200HC .177 is just amazingly accurate. I would not trade mine for anything. It's really quite simple. In both cases of actually owning these rifles, they both are as accurate as it's possible to get. What more could a shooter want.

 

Air Arms TX and Prosport definitely have it by miles in the looks department though. Unquestionably beautiful air rifles to look at.

 

If you want the most accurate spring rifle of all plus really beautiful looks. That's the HW77.

this question seems to get asked nearly as much as the 177 over 22 debate.

 

there's no denying that out the box the tx and the pro sport are excellent. they can both be made better with a proper tune up. i find both to be very hold sensitive. especially the tx carbine and the pro sport. the pro sport is easily the sexiest looking springer available today bar none.

 

the hw97 is rougher round the edges out of the box but still does everything its supposed to do. once tuned though the 97 is devastatingly accurate and consistent. the thumbhole stock on my kt isn't the best lookig of stocks, but seems to fit me and my style of shooting far better than any of my other guns. i think a lot of it is down to the adjustable butt pad.

 

both the air arms and the hw's are superb guns. it depends which one suits your style of shooting best.

 

same goes with the trigger comparisons. which is better, the cd trigger or the rekord trigger?

Ive got a 97K and its a superb little shooter, better by far than I can shoot.

 

I like the bear trap on the Tx200 and it has a very nice stock too, I don't think you would be disappointed if you owned either

i ended up with my hw97kt by accident. originally i bought a brand new tiger striped walnut pro sport in 177. it was gorgeous to shoot, but developed a problem and had to go back to air arms for some tlc. it came back 2 weeks later no better than before it went. the shop was very good with me and exchanged it for another. this one was also stunning in a very dark walnut stock. lovely graining.

 

this one lasted about a week before it developed the same problem as the first. the shop offered to send it back to air arms for me, but by now i'd lost faith in it so asked them if they would let me exchange it for my hw97kt.

 

since then i haven't looked back. the only problem ive ever had with the 97 is having to change the breech seal every now and then. i'm not slating the pro sport at all. i think i was just unlucky. the groups i shot with the pro sport straight out the box were unreal. they were pcp standard and twice as small as the 97 out the box. the 97 was good, but not a patch on the pro sport. the 97 dieseled every 50 or so shots which really got on my nerves cos when it didnt it was very nice to shoot. thats what made me decide to get it tuned. that made it a pure tack driver.

yes mate. dave hall did it. luckily he doesnt live too far away so i took it to him and sat there while he did his thing.

 

he also shown me some of the old springs and crap that he's took out of some of the other guns he's tuned. some of the lubes were like tar. some out of hw's, others out of air arms. the factory lubes do their job, but they're not a patch on a proper job.

 

he also makes his kit individually for each gun he does. mine came aprt 3 times before he was happy with it. it was great to watch him do what he does. well worth the money.
