fxshooter 18
Darryl, Thanks for posting the video mate, very useful to a newbie like me. Bit of advice please mate, how do you clean the barrel on your Prosport? I cannot thread my Napier pull through down the barrel on my Prosport. The rifle shoots Ok as I have already put some pellets through it. Thanks again. Regards. Russ Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
Use a drinking straw & thread the pull through down that Darryl 1 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Also using an Andyfr1968 is a good method too! Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
I think the only real way to do it on the prosport is to cock the rifle and hold onto that under lever whilst fiddling around in the breach. Not had to clean mine yet so don't know how easy it is to feed the pull through into the breach. Quote Link to post
Elliott 436
Don't clean it until your accuracy drops off! Although I admit its always tempting to think "I wonder if the accuracy will improve even more if I give it a clean" Sometimes you can make it worse until its leaded up again. Thumbs up for Balistol oil too, I use it regularly Quote Link to post
fxshooter 18
Thanks for the advice guys, its all greatfully received. I bought the Prosport second hand last week for £330, which included a cr*p scope and a gun bag, cocked and fired it several times on the shops range and all seems OK. When I got home I cleaned all the finger prints of the barrel with a cloth impregnated with Napier Power Airgun Oil and its come up a treat. (When I checked the serial number with Air Arms they told me it was manufactured in July 2011.) It will be used on the club range on Saturday so I will then have a better idea of its accuracy, and then perhaps decide if the barrel needs a clean. But I suspect any duff shots will not be the fault of the rifle. Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my question. Regards. Russ Quote Link to post
