Tame Mink!

Recommended Posts

Neither look like ferrets, i wonder what the story behind them is ? Maybe something like those foxes breed in russia for the fur trade that were domesticated over a few years, and started acting like dogs, untill they were all destroyed, they breed only the ones that didnt show aggression, to make the fur farming easier ?

I'm not really sure what the drive of this thread is. But, there's a book I read, in the sixties. " Mink On My Shoulder ". Dust cover illustrated just that. Author, stooped over and with a f**king great (Champaign?) buck mink sat on his shoulder.

That was a while back now and I really can't remember the details. I think he was a Mink Farmer though. And he seemed to find this creature a bit of an amazing one off.

Maybe they are. Maybe people just don't bother trying to tame mink? Why would anyone?

Wasn't it Phil Drabble who wrote " Weasel In My Meat Safe " ?

Just put it on because it's always claimed they can't be tamed, obviously they can!

Lost me there, mate. I don't think I've yet come across a reliable source (That I remember, that is) of stoat taming.

Just had a quick google and apparently stoats and weasels are easily imprinted and tamed.

I had forgotten about Mary queen of Scotts she had a tame stoat that used to wear a collar.

Ah! 10-4, mate ;) Yeah. Like I said; I think people just don't bother to try, or even have the opportunity, these days.

When you think about it? Lot of trouble. For what? Bragging rights ....? A clip buried on You Tube? I think attention spans are getting too short, these days.
