bored to death

im sitting here at home and dont know what to do with my self.i worked most of last year and have worked most of my life in dfferent jobs but as work is hard to come by these days i started to work agencys.then xmas comes along and you end up with a very long break as most companies dont go back till january 7th and finnished my last job on the 10th december and have been waiting for work to come in.so my day now starts at 6am get up take the dogs out back home clean the house and sit on the computer chatting on here most of the day. as im not a young lad who can pop round and sit with your mates like we used to, my question is what do you lads do to make life a bit more tolerable and pass the time when out of work :thumbs:

I work most of the time but if the bad weather comes in and can't get any ground work done there's always somebody needing something done ie painting ,cleaning out guttering just odd jobs , I'm never shy in asking some one for work , it's good to have a break but do t get stuck in the rut lad always some thing to do . Thumbs up atb jim

that xmas period fcuks everything up in my eyes and yes you do get stuck in a rut :thumbs:

You can always find some thing constructive to do if you look mate :yes:

ive worked since i left school and always want to work but as you get older and the times change going for jobs now is a nightmare as you have to put cv and emails and im like a dinosaure with all this.

same here even for a 10 hour a week cleaning job you have to send in a cv. , i applied for 3 jobs 2nd week in dec & I had nothing come back from any of them , its very disheartening when you dont even get a no thanks . chin up anyway as i am in the same boat .. sick of looking for work to help boost the small wage i get from my part time job :thumbs:

I'm semi retired ,when I'm not working I'm shooting and at the allotment and doing things around the house

jjm im all ways doing things in the house ive tiled right through the ground floor fitted a kitchen always painting so thats sorted i just like being out there in a steady job knowing i got a steady income coming into the house and getting back to normal.thanks for the replys

Do Tiling for other folk then.

They Charge an absolute fortune up our way!

 

I bet I could have paid to get you up to Aberdeen and done the job for less than some of the quotes we got!! :icon_eek:

 

In the end, a mate's Dad in the same kinda position to yourself did it at a more 'humane' cost. :thumbs:

done a good few tiling jobs im also an industrial cladder and worked as a slater tiler for many years but have rhumatoid artheritis so had to pack it in,some days im fine but others it flares up and im crippled and in pain
