Bosun11 537
No different to anyone else's posts for me... Simple truth of the matter is that it goes with the territory.. Some specks are just red hot, both with hunters and those out to stop 'em. It certainly ain't worth a toss trying to do anything about it, fool if you do... Just box a bit more clever, be a 'better' hunter/poacher, beat 'em all at their own game and reap the rewards of that... Quote Link to post

Guest long-tail
Unless you own the land or have permission on said they have as much right to be there as you do what iv noticed particularly with golf courses is that more lads have permission than is really neccessary, the attitude of some head green keepers is to let as many on as possible to clear the rabbits weather they lamp dogs, ferret or use rifles so long as they wipe the rabbit population clean out,but to me i think it can be less productive in the long run Quote Link to post
hunting1234 122
Just looking to start a bit of discussion on what I consider a touchy subject......... So, what do you do when the land on your doorstep you have walked all your life starts getting hammered by lads driving in from else where especially week in week out starts causing unwanted attention from the authorities? It's not hard to understand why........... dead hares left where they were killed, lads in 3s 4s & 5s lined out walking the fields bold as ya like. Unfortunately discretion doesn't seem to enter their minds........ Trouble is, those of us that try to go about things with a bit of discretion mostly on our own just walking the dogs locally not having to worry incase something rises and there's a bit of an accident suddenly find police cars patrolling the lanes with landowners/locals now phoning the police as soon as they see you. Unmarked cars with plain clothed officers start actively patrolling your area looking for anybody with a lurcher and dirt on their boots. Is it really fair to blame the lads dogging your local spots relentlesly with seemingly no care for discretion? Shitting on your doorstep? This isn't a dig at the coursing lot. Just a philisophical question. i now exactly what you mean it's the same round here Quote Link to post
tote 861
going a little off track here but i dont like the idea of lads killing hares and leaving them in the field if youre gonna kill it at least take it home and if you dont want to eat it im sure the dog would be more than happy problem is hypothetically (as hares are now off the quarry list in most of great britian) if you were caught with one and a dog you would be in deep do dar Where in Great Britian are they [hares] still on the list? gnipper 6,792
Not really that much of a problem round here anymore because all the pricks have killed and dumped in gateways most of the hares already so your lucky to find one now. If you aren't going to at least try and get them home somehow then don't bother killing them, you'd be aswell going lure coursing if its just the chase your interested in. 3 Quote Link to post

Taz-n-Lily 62
I would make bloody sure to distance myself from this behaviour. It's illegal on mainland UK, and all it does is gives the rest of us a bad name. Report where you can, and make sure people know that you hunt responsibly. I only have one small permission currently - but I would have no problem in either kicking unauthorised/illegal hunters off, or reporting them so that the authorities/farmer could deal with them.
