Eating Day Old Rabbit...

I was out last night on the lamp and my mates dog got 2 and my bitch got 2.

 

Didnt get home till 2.30am and I was working at 6am so just left them in my game bag.

 

If I skin and gut them tonight and freeze them then will they be good to defrost and cook at a later date?

 

Ive always skinned them fresh and frozen them straight away.

 

I was just thinking, if you brought some fresh meat from supermarket and left it in the car all night and all next day then it wouldnt be very good to eat.

Oh dear what were you doing it with??   A spoon??

And remember to steep them in salt water over night it draws all the blood out of the meat tastes better happy cooking )

Best to cut the arsehole out at the same time you pull out the puddings.

 

It maybe a litlle more flavoursome but should be fine if well cooked.

 

If you do happen to end up with the shits then dont blame me.

i like to gut em as i go , do it like the fella in the video , squeeze em out its arse hole , less weight to carry also :laugh::thumbs:

 

I've heard about this. Does it work? Do all the guts come straight out?

you need to practice , but once ya got it sussed it a real time saver , have ya seen the vid ?

It works on young rabbits up to around three quater grown, above this size you need some serious pressure to squeeze it all out.

 

The method we use, the puds dont actually pop out of the arse but through the skin around the back of the leg.
