trenchfoot 4,243
I am giving up on the PCP's and going retro. I came across some old drawing I did in the ''s at school of customised HW's, tyrolean stocks etc and some old Airgun World posters, and it got me thinking. Just as prefer a side by side shot gun to an o/u or s/a and float fishing to all that alarmed up carp fishing, that I should go back to a well made springer and lavish a bit of time, effort and cash on building what I always wanted as a kid. I have always fancied the AA prosport, but have always had HW's, so I am guessing the best place to start would be a HW97k. But I have been wrong before! What would your advice/opinions be on building your dream custom springer? Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 793
step 1, buy a pro sport. step 2, err, thats it really lol in all seriousness, you wont go far wrong with a hw, my tarted up is by far my fave gun to just grab and go but in all honesty, the pro sport suits me much better-theyre a cracking gun straight out of the box. but a tuned hw sorted out to your own specifications is hard to beat, and if youre gonna go down the custom stock route then you'll have a world class springer in your hands. plenty of great stock builders out there, Ginb, cs etc that should be able to sort your dream rifle out for you. or, you could go down the same route i did and build your stock up with plastic padding car filler to get it exactly as you want it. best of luck with your project, cheers, wurz 1 Quote Link to post

It's a side by side air-rifle. One barrel is a .177 and the other is a .22. Both barrels share a scope and you have to remember what the hold over/under points are for each barrel, is it is it? pianoman 3,589
HW80 .22 set into a classic full-bore style hunting rifle stock with a beautifully shallow-swept wrist and grip and tapering forestock of rich dark Turkish walnut. Rosewood caps and white spacers. Tartan chequering to grip and forend. That'll do for me! Pianoman Quote Link to post
johnbaz 363
Hi There's other 'worthwhile' springers (though the Prosport is gorgeous ).... Here's a few for you to 'mull' over... BSA Goldstar and BSA Superstar HW35s HW80 Diana 52 HW77 TX200 As I said, There's all sorts of different springers.... The Prosport is just the purdyest of them all Shame I don't have one yet John Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
hi John you have far too many spring rifles Quote Link to post
Acuspell 329
Have a look at the old Webley springers - NOT THE NEW ONES. You want something that has been in a shed for 20 years at least. They are very tunable and in a nice stock would be a superb project. Quote Link to post
trenchfoot 4,243
Any suggestions on custom stockers? Not Don Robinson though. Half his stuff looks half chewed Quote Link to post
