pie-eater 377
What nets are you using? I like the spun poly nets but heavy nylon is also good. Quote Link to post
blond 8
think they are nylon, got them from the local fishing tackle shop, green in colour Quote Link to post
B&W 29
Hi mate, they are probably 4z Bisley nets or the like, nightmare to use in cover. I like the Hi-vis spun poly myself nowadays as they are easier to work with and good catchers too. They also don't need drying out like the hemp. Few lads on here make good quality nets. Sure somone can put up some names for you. Atb. 2 Quote Link to post

Country Joe 1,411
Get in touch with Netrigger on here, one off the finest netmakers in the Country, and get some spun polly. Bill does them in all hi viz colours, and is a Gentleman to deal with. 3 Quote Link to post
Brimmer 220
Does anybody on here think the 4z nylon, although a bloody nightmare to use, have a great ability to purse up and catch slow bolting rabbits that can throw the heavy nets of thier backs like a blanket? When they come out like a train, anything can stop them, but found a few of late, lifting and shrugging the heavy gauge nets off. Probs just my setting though! Quote Link to post
TOMO 29,025
I think that's down to the setting brim,,,, we can all try and save time especially with a big heavy net that you can just lob on,, instead of dropping the end in the hole so the rabbit steps on it. One thing I do like about the thin 4 z things,,is there great if your wandering around,,, they are so light and take up no space especially if you just have a small thin hazel peg around 1cm in diameter and about 4-5 inch long. Great for mooching Quote Link to post
Brimmer 220
Can fit about 60 6z nets in my bag, apart from the spazzy plastic yellow tent pegs me old man put on em to stop them getting lost, they take up no space, with the poly nets, allthough quality, they take up twice the space deffo! How did you go on at the weekend feller? Quote Link to post
netrigger 588
In my opinion when you see rabbits throwing clear of the heavier twined nets its all down to the Mesh size.. Theres very little stretch in the thicker twined nets so a lot of the shop bought jobby's mesh size is lacking... Better with a 4 1/2" full mesh lets the Bunny's head get Gilled .. Or double peg the nets with a smaller mesh size,, works a treat.. takes longer to set them but deadly.. 1 Quote Link to post

Guest cookiemonsterandmerlin
I like a mix of sizes and weights got some hemp for them extra thorny holes some 3 foot 6 inch nets for them extra large sandy holes etc some tiny nets just for pop holes one type and weight of net is not always perfect there a art to net setting that I think is greatly overlooked by newcomers and old timers alike . Just build up your nets over the years some good quality nets out there ATB Cookie Edited November 1, 2012 by cookiemonsterandmerlin 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,588
I just use red spun four footer's , 4z a bit light and 10 or 12 z's too heavy Quote Link to post
Duarte Costa 0
Nowadays i'm using metal nets (Tubes) plus a few cotton home made nets. The tubes also home made are working quite well. Quote Link to post
