bunnys 1,236
the pursuit of excellence is seldom straight forward, worker to worker is a good recipe but who is to say what 's a lamp dog aint a day dog, that may be dictated by availability of work?'hybrid vigour' reduces every generation away from the f1. that may be so on the f1s but and heres the cleesh ,when one breeds to none related types from good stock there is stilll more than enough vigour . atb bunnys. minshaw man 111
I was going to line my Collie cross with a Match dog... Bitch has not had a season since I Got a decent dog sorted... I Fancied a pup off Socks his first cross to a daytime dog but she never whelped But I will be getting a pup off a similar breeding sometime in the near future.. I wanted the cross because my bitch Hybrid collie mix dose not miss much on the lamp and is good daytime hunter finding and flushing game she just lacked a bit for those longer daytime runs. I was hoping combining the saluki type with excells at the daytime game the pups should smash them daytime and retain the bitches good lamping running style/intellegence. Horses for courses but would imagine this cross would suite most hunters that were after ediable game a gud linebread saluki that you have seen run thats quick over your minshaw bitch wud mek decent a rekon Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
A far better way of edging your bets in getting a decent allround lurcher rather than just getting a pup bred out of a raceing dog imho. Quote Link to post
Matt3699 142
In actual fact my current pup is out of a good daytime dog and night time dog. Sire was great on day time stuff. Dam was great on the lamp. + = Will have to see how this one turns out though Edited October 19, 2012 by Matt3699 1 Quote Link to post

Tiny 7 1,694
I like this X, Proper alround lamper back too a a decent hare dog But then again iv seen some proper bred saluki types make right good alrounders on everything... But theyve all been sharp types or at the very least pacey type 2 Quote Link to post
