Ausnick 190
tease them with it, get them really excited and keep hitting them with the sock to get them psyched up, not too hard that it thinks it's in trouble though obviously Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
If all's ok heath wise... Then wait until your youngster shows interest in something that could be of retrievable type, most pups are forever mouthing sommat and wind it up with it, in a play type way. When its keen and trying to get it, move to a area like a doorway, somewhere it has to go close to you to get past and throw it, only a few feet. It should go get it and at that point will either try to get past you or maybe move to another spot it likes. If its another place, move yourself to a position it will have to go close to you to get past. When it comes past, gently take it off it, with loads of praise and throw again, only a few feet and repete. Do not play too much tug of war!! The key is for you to stop and take the item, placing it just out of reach and walk away, game over, for now. Always stop when the pup is mad keen and that way it'll be mad keen when you get the object next time. Again, a wind up first, then a few retrieves, quit when your winning!! Remember... Retrieving MUST be fun, too much and a youngster gets bored and you've blown it...!!! Best of luck Fay. Quote Link to post

Runningdogs3 59
Give it a whole bunch of different toys. Soft, hard, chewable, shreddable, balls,( personally I stay clear of squeaky). Watch for a few days and see what she likes best and then start to interact with her. Do it steady though so as not to put her off. Quote Link to post
