Guest vin
Hello all. I've been doing a lot of pest control jobs these last few months and apart form the odd trip out with the lamp I havnt had chance to just have a little mooch. . .The cover is still well up everywhere and Ive tried a few of my local spots where its still way to overgrown. My young lad wanted to have a walk on his last day before going back to skoool tommorow..So after dinner we got the dogs and his little micro jill and another jill in a box and with a few nets, a bag of butties, we set of for a mooch with a view to seeing if the little micro fert was gonna be able to bolt anything..lol.(its tiny) The hedgerows are active with burrows etc etc but impossible to seee where all the holes are..so we went into a wood where theres a few old warrens that have the odd visitors from time to time. The dogs marked up a couple of holes on a banking that was almost bare of cover and realtively easy to net up with about 8 holes..just a few brambles and twigs but most of the undergrowth was bare...luxury ferreting for this time of year..lol. So we netted up the holes and dropped the little micro jill in.. I've had her out a few times so far and she seems to find em and get em moving if they are willing to move...I know she,ll struggle with a big buck dales bunny if he dont wanna move but for something so small it seems to make up for it in tenacity..Time will tell,There was no more in there,I ran the other Jill through aswell just to make sure. Anyway as you can tell on the video my young lad is still learning about being quiet..he was buzzing after seeing his little squirter bolt that big old bunny... and the older grey beddy is only a spectator, she,s his pet...but she does a good impersination of a lurcher, unfortunately she could'nt catch one in a tent...lol. . . thats the truth. But it was just fantastic to be out with my lad and the dogs. http://s1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc414/vincevoxbox/?action=view¤t=MollyandrubyferretingwithHarrisonandhislittleMicrojill4thsept20121.mp4 Edited September 4, 2012 by vin Quote Link to post
