Elliott 436
Daystate Li's are known as, are we ready Tony? Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums in .22! I heard they were Crosman Premiers (cardboard boxed type) Quote Link to post
thursodog 353
Simon put me onto the H&N Ftts and they are amazing. Incidently i bought two Weihrauchs yesterday and they are brilliant with these pellets also. Our V-mach .22 97k which we picked up yesterday is grouping within a 5 pence piece at 30 yrds and that was my 12 year old son who was shooting. Good groups with our new to us hw57 but not as good as the tuned 97k. CW. Edited August 26, 2012 by thursodog 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,589
I was just going to get bismags for chronoing.. as with hobbys. so how long ago were the wasps a good pellet.. because for the last 15 years we have regarded them as medium quality. A medium quality pellet Skot? No, surely. If you were shooting a Webley .22 air rifle from the mid-late 1970s to the early 2000s Wasps may have performed brilliantly from it. Wasps were known as a superb performing pellet in a Webley barrel. Perhaps not in EVERY case but, certainly in the Webleys I've had. Great air rifles those. Latterly with an HW35 Export and my FAC HW80 when that was brand new. Then a few years ago, after dissapearing from the shelves, they reappeared. I snapped them up but found they were utter mis-shaped crap. Made now by a foreigner with no idea what the Wasp or any pellet ought to be. But, with respect fella, I've been shooting more years with more rifles than I want to count Skot, and Webley and the Wasp as I knew them are, alas, no more! I honestly swore by em! I have about a hundred of the originals left in a tin and somehow I cannot bring myself to shoot them. You would not believe how different these look to the shit that masquerades under the name now! regards. Simon Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
well simon pianoman, its nice to have your expert oppinion on these pellets (wasps~) i always thought they were average.. bit better than the marksman in a box lmao. just cheap plinkers for shooting action mans and wrestling figures in my mates back garden (and missing 9/10 times) bit of a nostaliga!! lol, although it was only 10 years ago still good memorys of my first few air rifles i shot with. a crossman pump up thing, my mates russian sidelever thing and then his dads (king?) ratcatcher.. ah those were the days then shared a chinese breaak barrel with my mate, then got a webley sport. then went onto bsa supersports and lightnings. then it was the 99s thats when i was skillful enough to hunt, and took shooting seriously. then i got a hw97k then s200 s410.. then stopped shooting for about 4 years until this year, january, when i got that lightning xl and started shooting again. then 97kt syn .177 now got the 95k . 177 and swapped the 97 .177 for the brand new hw97kt wood .22 that should be ordered on tuesday, might even arrive friday or sat anyway when i said your 'expert' oppinion at the top of this post i wasnt been sarcy or taking the pi*s it might read like that but it wasnt meant to. your THE springer man according to a lot of people and im sure you could teach me a hell of a lot! cant wait to go shooting with you oneday Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,589
Hi Skot., Well matey, I've been passionately shooting and hunting with spring rifles since 1965. That's before England won the World Cup and Neil Armstrong walked on the moon (R.I.P.) and The Beatles were still a regular band singing on the radio! So, you learn a thing or two after that length of time, working away at something. Wasps used to be really great mate. They were MEDIUM weight, not medium quality and they were really top notch in most springer barrels And if you have a pellet that absolutely sings from your barrel, then you are a happy man. Nothing beats knowing that the rifle and pellet you have is going to do the business when you're out with it. Doesn't matter if you use solid gold slugs or the cheapest chips. So long as they are working for you. The Rabbits won't have any complaints about quality issues! Thank you for the compliments! Simon Pianoman Edited August 27, 2012 by pianoman 1 Quote Link to post
