PlasticJock 539
The RSPCA have dropped all charges against the Heythrop huntsmen.... ....Leaving the taxpayers to pick up a 5 figure bill. They are also recruiting 8 further full time anti hunt monitors.
graham4877 1,181
Typical, RSPCA should foot the Bill , if this was the case it might make them think twice about bringing non cases to court in the hope they can chance a conviction. Yes they should be made to pay all costs . dirty beeping scum bags
The one 8,589
Can the judge not order them to pay ?.
PlasticJock 539
Can the judge not order them to pay ?. I thought so too but maybe it's different if they drop the charges as opposed to the charges being not proven, as the judge hasn't made a judgement
The one 8,589
Time yet them . The last time this happened didn't the judge award costs against them ?.
tegater 789
Why do the public have to pick up the bill if it was the RSPCA that brought the prosecution. The RSPCA are not a public body, they are a charity, unless I misunderstand their role.

Also, these were criminal charges meaning the police would have had to investigate.

PlasticJock 539
Apparently both LACS and RSPCA are in mega financial trouble - The RSPCA are in trouble with the Charities Commission for the third time, and have also been laying staff off and selling assets. LACS have sold land making £500k + and some of their sanctuaries, and still reported a £100K + loss.

Haven't got a clue mate, apparently 'wildlife sanctuaries' but by the looks of their organisation they couldn't run a bath so all the idiots who donated will realise fairly soon that it wasn't put to any good use.
