F-O-R-D - Fix Or Repair Daily but we've a ford and its been alright so far all mine ended up on roof..or smashed up at 3 am in morning.. was gutted when i done my 4x4 in was a 2.8 and all Sierra???... or maybe a sapphire labtastic Still a Sierra though isn't it?.... No Sierra Saphire 2.8 4x4, only Saphire was the Cosworth ........ I had a 2.9 4x4, my favourite car of all I've ever had. Anyone else had them? Did the 2 wheel drive had no bonnet vents but the 4x4 had bonnet vents. Thats how i knew the difference?......... I aslo thought the Sapphire was the Saloon and the Sierra 4x4 was hatchback........ I never had a Saphire, but yes I think one of the differences was the bonnet vents. I was only looking at photos of my Sierra the other day, give me half an hour, I'll scan a couple in .............. Never had one but youve been in a few tho mate

South hams hunter 8,988
Try and buy from main dealer that have put in part exchanges, if you don't know much about cars Mannheim do a gaurentee on some of the cars. If you see a car your interested in make sure you are stood buy it when it's started not just admit enters the hall, don't be afraid to speak to the driver about how the car is and also ask him to rev the engine out and also put it in and reverse slightly
jasper65 6
What was the rs500 ? Now you're talking . Think this was Hatchback only, a pal had a black one with a with a huge whale tail spolier on the back! I beleive this also came as standard aswel as the bonnet vents. only ever seen the 2.8 4x4's in a hatchback also but could be wrong here.... A few pictures of my old Escort RS's back late 's earley 90's...
Lab 10,979
SS...........When did you switch from selling drugs to collars then mate.............?..... Jasper.....Nice motors mate, loved them growing up, could get one thought, a wee bit pricey for me.. ........You've got it mate, thats the one with the Whale Fin.....f****d if i can find a decent photo of one... I remember them because i hadn't passed my test that long, i had a wee Renault GTX 1.7..great first car. Anyway i came of the roundabout and thought i'd go past this Sierra 4x4 with the big Whale Fin..The guy wasn't interested in a race but i decked it, flew passed him and my exhaust fell off........ Very embarrassing when he trundled past me at the side of the road....
gnasher16 31,426
labtastic, i cannot recall ever seeing the 4x4 being a hatchback, but great cars in there day What was the rs500 ? Tickford? Yes it was Tickford tuned i always thought the " 500 " stood for 500 bhp ( it was around 543 i think ).......it was only a few years ago someone told me it was actually that there was only 500 made......something about they had to make 500 to qualify as group a race or something....... Serious piece of kit anyway......in any era ! Edited August 1, 2012 by gnasher16

jasper65 6
Nice pics Jasper...........im obviously a few years older than you i was an rs2000 and Mexico man myself nice one Gnasher . these was cars me and the wife had just before and after we married, must say I loved the RS T's but they was no match for the old Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI, this thing was a pocket rocket but not as solid as the RS Turbo's... when I was a lad and still rideing about on my Fizzy I started dating a girl a few miles away who's brother had a MKII RS2000, back then I was still on my provisional so he offered to take us to one of the local venues about 12 miles away, I rememeber getting in this RS and thinking it was the dogs danglies! he booted it away and opened her up on the straight and to this day I never forgot it, I know I have had quicker cars since but this car always stick in the my mind. the RS amd Mexico Escorts was somthing else. my first car was a MKI 1100 Escort and always wanted a mexico or I think back then there was a Harrier? a RS would have been nice too .... the days of lifting the bonnet with a pair of feeler gauges in our hands checking the points and plugs have all gone, what a shame........
