And while your at it why dont you get in the pool and give Becci a race............say 200 metres in the pool, she'll be happy to give you a 150 metre start... gnasher16 31,499
Don,t know about leading the world but I reckon they are better than GB at swimming, rugby union , rugby league, maybe volleyball, netball, tennis, hockey, water polo, motorbike racing, there may be more and of course we are better than then at various other sports . Yep fair do,s i cant argue about sports i dont know nothing about so im sure your right on the ones you mention.......of the big sports ( popularity worldwide )....id say we better them at Football,Cricket,Boxing,Athletics,Horse Racing,Golf ?..........Snooker and Darts if you accept them as sport.....and im sure many others i dont know enough about......I think it would be generally accepted we are a bigger sporting nation than them in terms of events......the Fa Cup or Premier League for example are known worldwide.....besides im always dubious of countries that have to invent their own sports that nobody else plays and them call themself world champs at ...ie Aussie Rules,American Football etc etc
gnasher16 31,499
With the backing of the crowds, home advantage and all that, what is going wrong then ? Personally i dont think anythings " going wrong "....sure we are going to have surprise victories and disappointing defeats and thats just the nature of sport.........but as a country of sports fans i think we just have to get it out of our cannisters that we are somehow ENTITLED to win !!....No different to the football be it World Cup or Europeans......Every other nation and competitor wants to win just as much as we do,they are all in every bit as good condition as we are and every bit as well prepared as we are...................so what makes British people think we only need turn up to win.....i just dont understand it.

fazza123 517
You have never been involved in sport have you lord haw haw. I have a lot of respect for sports people lord Coe but like i say,we are underachievers.Every british athlete who was expected to do well so far has major fecked up... Yeah it really sounds like you have a lot of respect...... What was wrong with Becky Addlingtons performance? It's early days still..... I have a lot of respect for sports people(other than becci addlington) lord Coe but like i say,we are underachievers.Every british athlete who was expected to do well so far has major fecked up... So you haven't an answer? Just another shit stirer. Is it your missis or something? I watched her interview before and after and couldnt believe the big smile on her boat race after she'd wasted" 4 years of dedication, effort and time" her words, on.The result was fine cos shit happens but to apologize and say "oh well theres always the next race" is unacceptable and although i envy her optimistic attitude i wouldnt like it on someone i helped train or followed... You would rather she said, "Yeh, swimming a faster time than my Gold winning time in Beijing and only winning a bronze is awfull and I think I'll chuck the towel in now because I'm just that bad"? FFS . You do realise the rest of the world want to win as well don't you! It's not like training and attitude garuntee anything, all the athletes graft fecking hard, if there's someone there better than you there just better than you. Sorry i stand corrected,it was Hannah Miley that gave the interview not addlington. Lads its me that here fishing and theres one or 2 with bigger hooks in there mouths than me
