Every Pound earned

Would that be such a bad thing in the long-term? We are on a path to extinction because everyone is programmed to want more and more and in the end greed will destroy everything. We rely on more technology to fix problems, but eventually there won't be a way to return fish to the sea, pollinate plants or bring back trees. The best solution would be to reduce the population down to a few billion instead of trying to manage an expanding population no-one seems to question as being a bad idea. I honestly don't think that society is better today than for our grandparents, quality of life might be better but the divide between rich and poor is ever increasing and I think happiness is taking a down turn.

We can't change our nature, it's what has got us here and it is what will have to save us. We could have continued pond lifeing about the place like every other species, but we didn't we evolved into what we are now. Our competative and adaptive superiority put us here and now it is threatening us. Suddenly burning all ya fivers and bartering won't change jack shit. Money isn't the problem, human nature is.

I think it is debateable on how you clarify what is considered superior. We are the most intelligent animal, but intelligence hasn't been proven to be evolutionary stable or beneficial in the long-term at all. There will be single celled organisms alive long after we have wiped ourselves out, leaving a gap for the next dominant and adaptive creature. But evolution aside, we are certainly successfully adaptive but we have a tragic blend of intellect and biology that is very destructive. However there are many humans clever enough to get past this and see what needs to be done and not just what they would like, it is a shame that most people are idiots who strut around trying to get a girl to f**k them and buy a gold rolex. So money is a big part of this, we live in a society where everyone is competing for status and we use money for this, so I agree bartering would just replace the problem with another but it would be limited to a lesser degree. Maybe a nuclear war would save more lives than it would destroy, who knows I am off to buy a gold, diamond studded penis extender.

£1=£1 and always will. What you can buy with that £1 is the only thing that will change. With taxes, if a loaf of bread is £1 and 20% tax does that make the bread worth 80p? If it were 50% tax then is

A pound is worth . . . . Nothing, nada, zilch, zero, its accepted as a unit of currency because we all believe in its value in exchnge for goods and services but its actualy backed by nothing. If

Oh right so someone starts a blog and it's the truth. Tbh I find that about dunblane actually offensive. Is there nothing these tin foil brigades won't use to pedal there conspiracies.

There are other ways to reduce a population and I never suggested rounding up martyrs, for example people only having one child and not getting paid to have a litter of 14 like the stories the media love would go a long way. The problem is that the lower the IQ, the more children people are likely to have and this is absolutely true. I would like to see an end to the strong defending the weak, if people want kids they can't afford it is no-one else's responsibility to feed them imo.

Compassion is a large part of what makes us human. It should not be mistaken for a weakness. I know what you are saying and I have thought the same but to live in a society where the weak are not defended would risk us loosing our empathy and compassion. It's a complicated topic.

I have just been looking back on this thread its wavered from the value of a pounds and what its true value to be to conspiracy theorists , on who demolished the twin towers to castrating the world populous to diamond encrusted penis extensions and nuclear submarines. World war 1/2 possible 3, the only issue we havent broached on is the legitimacy of the royalty to rule our country, conspiracy in respect to who shot Kennedy or the death of Elvis Preiesly or Princess Diana. the conflict in Viet Nam wasnt broached which I am somewhat dissapointed on as I thought their may have been a few opposed to it or for that matter The Iraq war and Falklands War I think those being the only few subjects not mentioned

Please tell me if I have missed anything! :hmm:

its been a cracker and a pleasure.

I still havent found out the true value of what my pounds worth but whatever it is I doubt I will find the answer on here but still I was amused by the responses offered.

Cheers

Stu

Speaking off Elvis , there's a guy works down our chip shop swear's he's Elvis !

I knew a guy who swore he was the son of Elvis and would constantly sing Elvis songs to try and get people to ask him. He couldn't have looked or sounded any less like Elvis but that's what his mum told him and he believed it...poor bugger.

But back to the random topics, Born Hunter I think I am lacking in empathy and compassion but I think what I said is logical. No-one wants to be deprived their right to have children but in the long run some sacrifices will need to be made, better to start on the prevention now before the cure really is a bumming.
