Malt 379
Not much wildlife here but its a geologists wet dream if you like that kind of thing! Bit of wildlife in there somewhere! The main beach is called Marloes sands, this part is known as Albion Sands after a ship which was wrecked there with the loss of all hands. The thing in the middle is some of the mechanical debris from the wreck Bit more wildlife, and as I took this I was kicking myself for not having a decent camera because these birds are as rare as rocking horse shit to catch a glimpse of.. Any guesses? Few more of the rock formations.. Found this when we first hit the beach!

Malt 379
nic pics malt are they chuff Spot on mate, Red billed Chough! First ones I've ever seen, and I've been looking out or them ever since a pair of bobble hatted twitchers asked me if I'd spotted any when I passed them on the coast path when I was in my early teens! Just wish I'd had a camera with a decent zoom..

tegater 789
Great pics Malt. We had a good time by the way down your neck of the woods, taking the kids on Amroth beach on Thursday, in the p*ssing rain, we to had a good look at the geology of that beach. The cliffs there are quite something, and we weren't sure whether fossils could be found, with all the different layers of rock etc. Barrafundle was another great beach and we actually had some good weather. One interesting thing we had on Amroth beach, was a seagull with an obvious broken wing hopping about at the base of the cliffs, and a couple of peregrines circling and screaching overhead. We wondered whether the gull had flown fast into the cliffs and broke its wing, in an attempt to get away from them.
Malt 379
Cheers lads! Teagater, Barafundle is stunning and well worth the walk. Did you manage to get any fishing done anywhere? At certain times of the year on the lowest tides, remnants of an ancient petrified forest can be found at Amroth. I love the natural history of this coastline, it has got a bit of everything. And beach pics and not a bikini in sight, disappointed Mal, dis-a-pointed
skycat 6,174
I don't know about needing a decent camera: those look pretty good to me: those rock formations are superb, you can just imagine the forces which pushed the rock layers into those shapes.
