Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
hey all went for a mooch about tonight and there wer millions of woodys in the trees but i couldnt get within 100 friikin yards!! what does everybody think to the look of the ,, Jack Pyke LLCS (light leaf concealment system) 'boonie hat' and the llcs gloves http://www.jackpykeshop.co.uk/llcs-boonie-hat.html or some similar ideas.. i dont want it to be too hot and stuffy in the summer, but i dont want to be too cold in the winter LOL also i need to 'camo' my gun, if it was a pcp id just wrap some old camo t shirt around it or sumat, everytime i went out, lol ... but its an underliver so cocking and loading would be awkward.. also i dont want to nacker the blueing or dont want it going rusty so camo tape would probably be a no-go?? cheers for any help and advice lads (in advance) Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
You need the attention of Mole Concealment Services. 1) Head and face! Forget beanie/boonie hat, buy a Jack Pyke scrim type balaclava face mask, they have a veil in so not even the tiniest bit of flesh is visible and you can see out, like this one here.... Not to hot in summer and you can always wear a had over it in winter! http://www.jackpykeshop.co.uk/light-weight-mesh-balaclava.html 2) Gloves. This time of year you need a lightweight gloves, anything like the Seeland Keeper range will have your fingers drowning in sweat. So I use a cheap as chips pair of Garlands camo gloves for summer hunting... Thin you can feel the trigger, ideal... http://www.garlands.uk.com/jersey-gloves~146 3) Gun Camo. Do not want to foul the underlever? Want it so you can reload? How about Mole Concealment Services super hide it cloak? Never heard of it, have a look... All you need is time and patience! Get some Scrim net from Army Surplus store, lay it over rifle and cut to appropriate length. Cut hole for scope. Then fit and sew some velcro tabs so you can operate underlever and reload, then by doing up a few tabs, shroud secure. Then if you want, buy some Jack Pyke 3D LLCS, cut to individual leaves and sew in place... http://www.jackpykeshop.co.uk/jack-pyke-llcs-leaves.html That do you? 2 Quote Link to post

ghillies 209
a simple set of events regaurding camo. day one on virgin soil, you can run about neckid like a mad man the wildlife just sits there looking at you by day three everything disapears and the hint of a twig cracking.. camo jacket get a few camo trousers get one glove n hat yu get closer to more cover the gun closer again or at least you get a shot in. is that a scrib net over the gun? if it is get another couple or three and scisser them into bits n strips, narrow in the middle and wider at the ends, put the odd rip in the wider bits and start threading the strips into the main net, leave three or 4 squares in the middle bit, the wider ends (a couple three or 4 inch's) small enough that theyll pass through the net squares.. pull to the middle and leave it there. no knots needed. about 4-6 inch eather side of the middle..or what ever, doesnt matter how big. (save the double ended seams to tie the main net to the gun and scope..you'll see when you do it.) word of warnng though, dont leave the gun and go for a pee or what ever..tis a distinct posability you will lose the gun lol. looks like a bush bit if you hang it over something. walk away and forget about it it disapears.. zini 1,939
I own the full Jack Pike LLCS kit and i can tell you it works very well indeed. I tested in on Friday afternoon on my permission before meeting up with Malc and Davy and I can tell you if you have the full kit, i.e suite (top and bottoms), balacalava and gloves you are just about invisible if against a matching back ground. The permission where i was is up a private track (so not a public route) and i sat next to the track with my back against a tree waiting for pigeons and corvids to land in a sittee tree opersit. In the 45 minutes i sat there static hunting with the HW97KT about 3 cars from the farm came down the track past me and didnt see me at all. They were no more than 2 metres from me too and travelling very slow. Unfortunaly only 1 crow landed in the tree in the time stated but it landed on the far side and so out of a humane shot location so i didnt take a shot. Si. secretagentmole 1,701
Hence my recommendation, the lightweight balaclava with face veil, keeps the eyes well hidden! Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
crows see your eyes beleive it or not... tested the theory out a few times in my ghillie suit.. Darn true So do Woodies I've demonstrated this to Woodworm dozens of times. Head down eyes down, both fly towards us, woodies land in tree above us. Head still down, eyes lock onto either species, and they come to a screating halt mid air and either turn 90'degrees left or right or head in the direction the came from Woodies see in the UV spectrum, human skin etc reflect this like a beacon Tony Quote Link to post
mikeyblue 28
I tend to buy ex surplus cammo. German flecktarn works a treat on my main permission. I can be kitted out in full goretex, gloves, face veil in winter, or lightweights in summer for about £30. The money saved goes towards pellets! Mikey. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yes the Jack Pike balaclava has a camo mesh also built into it that covers your whole face and eyes with a camo pattern but from the other side where your eyes look through its clear. Very nice bit of kit. Si Quote Link to post
