Ticks.

I dont know about everyone else but the ticks are awful this year we are using stronghold for fleas and mange then using frontline spray for the ticks. They are building immunity to this so have been advised to use advantix next month. Just wondered what everyone else is using and how bad are you finding the problem?

Hi Sallie. Ticks are bad this year, over here as well. I don't know about the building up of immunity. But, I'm switching to K9 Advantix this month. Do to the failure of my current topical repellent/ killer.

tick pickers worked well for me last year , a quick twist and pull job done . but am going to try garlic additive in the food this year

Just pull them out, much quicker, easier and cheaper than pouring loads of chemicals on your dog

i normally do as ive said before and im naughty for doing it with my finger and thumb but if its a large infestation i just use a 50/50 mix of benzol and water in a sprayer

This year looks like its going to be the same as last year....a nightmare for them. I just spray a bit of Frontline straight on them when i see them...........

Your not suposed to spray anything on the tick's especialy if they are on human's as they can vomit there content's into the skin wich greaten's the risk of limes disease..them tick removing tool's are ideal as they don't squash the body of the tick either..

ive been doing it that long im probably fooked anyway. there are ugly little fookers aswell. benzol paralysis them and there unable to feed so just die within 24hrs

I hate the fooking thing's Paul and i can't bring myself to touching one..cover me in wasp's or flea's all day long but tick's.. ..they is just something about them that make's me cringe..

now wasps are my worst enemy im sure they can smell my fear i get stung every fooking time i do a nest or even go near to one

i've had my fair share of sting's.. the worst was when i was digging a rat set out year's ago in a patch of nettle's..i thought the nettle's where stinging me till i looked down and seen my body and leg's covered in wasp's..i took of screaming like a girl ripping my clothes of... ...luckely know one seen or heard me.. :laugh:

when i use to ferret times ive disturbed one i can remember as a kid a bloke telling me how good wasp grubs were for fishing on the trent, i found a nest in an old stump, sprayed a can of fly spray down it and stopped it with some sods of turf, went back half an hour later and got stung to feck diigging it out, and i caught feck all on them

.. when i was about 5/6 yr's old my twin brother swatted one and put it in my mother's pocket when we where out shopping..i did not see him do it but he said to me there is something in there for you..so i put my hand in her coat pocket and the fooking thing stung me on the tip of my finger... that was me screaming like a girl again and him running about screaming holding his red thick lug after the old girl cracked him..
