NATACC 18 Posted May 18, 2012 Report Share Posted May 18, 2012 been down to platts to line a bitch which didnt want lining was very impressed with his set up and his knowledge what a geniunely decent bloke he did work his dogs hard at one point but not so much now even thou he does get out with some of them to make sure they still work right he uses dave sleights greyhounds on his deerhound bitches what bothers me because i like the deerhounds is this bonding and standoffish attitude Quote Link to post

The stand offish thing was a big deal for me, I am used to puppies wanting to play fight constantly and being a lot bolder and more forward with people where as this one seemed not to be too arsed and only wanted to play with adult dogs. He is not the sort of dog you shout at and once i adopted a more ignore the bad encourage the good type approach he was away. ITs strange though as he was never shy with other dogs and or the bits of game he has seen its just with people. That shy trait though may well have come from the greyhound dam that was nothing to do with dave platts kennels Quote Link to post

The one that the breeder kept is a bit soft around people as well like mine was apparantly screaming when put on the lead at first haha.
