Benelli recoil?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone out there know what the recoil is like on a Benelli semi auto?. Was looking at a left hand all black synthetic Hatsan Escort auto for £295 second hand. I mentioned it was nice but i was after a camo finish. I was shown a Benelli semi auto left hand in a camo. Lovely gun, nice weight and seemed to fit nice. The thing is, i was told before hand, by a bloke i was talking to in a builders merchant, don't get a Benelli, you can carry them all day, but they kick like a mule!. has anyone actually had a go with a Benelli semi and a semi of another make?. I know that Hatsan, Benelli and Fabarm are the only 3 that make left handers, but I'm not really that fussed if i get a right handed model.

It kicks no more than any other shotgun, the good thing with a Benelli is when you pull the trigger it's more than likely to fire than just click and misfire like the hatstand.

Joking apart you won't do wrong with a Benelli

Never had a problem with recoil with a Benelli. The system which it uses to cycle the action is an inertia system so it uses up the recoil from the cartridge rather than gas through the barrel which accounts for a lot of the recoil.

As above, but in my opinion the Bennelli still has more felt recoil than my Gas / Active valve system Winchester SX3 ,

Still a top notch shotgun though,

I shoot both a Beretta Urika 2 and a Benelli Rafaello. There isn't a lot between the two but i prefer the Benelli as it's easier to clean and low maintenance. Recoil is heavier but not a problem. It's really well put together and flawless once you work out what cartridges it likes. Mine like anything in a 70mm case and is fine with most 67mm.

yes they kick like fook, i had a bakial ou in early days and shot 350 rounds at clays 1 day and never even felt it then had various autos and then a 26" benilli and could shoot well with it won some sporting shoots and skeet shoots with it great little gun for walking game as you dont shoot so much ,but clays is another story it will kick and you start to notice it when shooting off more shots

well all i can say is I use a 26inch benelli, for just about everything, absolutely brilliant gun, I personally dont like the dead feeling you get from gas semis, I have used 28grms--- 50grm 3 inch mags in mine recoil not a problem at all,my advice, buy it you wont go wrong mate, whatever you do dont touch the hatstand.

FAO told me there is no limit on how many guns you can have on a SGC so i might get both, Hatstand and a Benelli. We were in my kitchen when he told me and my wife was cooking. She heard him and said ''Oh no, don't tell him that!''.
