bright star in the west.

Might of been mars or Venus as they were both very close a week or so ago virtually right next to each other

can you see the moon now mate?? from here i can see two things one to the left and one above it that stand out and not normally there, do you no what they are?? :thumbs:

Not now. It earlier thee was one to left n think one below they were right next and level with each other last week I thought it was satellites because not seen anything like that before but turns out it was them 2 suppose to be pretty rare

Mars and Venus have both been real bright of late. :yes:

 

 

two next to each other last week.brightest one was venus smaller one was jupiter.though obviously jupiter is bigger but further away.

night sky app on iphone is amazing. :yes:

 

I've got that on the iPad, but the star walk one is better IMO. :thumbs:

The bright star to the left of the moon is Jupiter, I was looking at it last night with a 100x spotting scope and you could even make out the coloured band around it and the 4 moons!! The very bright star higher up if you like is Venus. If you then turn 180 degrees and look eastish you will see a pink star, thats Mars. You can also see Saturn after about 10:30 off to the right of Mars but it takes a little bit of finding. :thumbs:
