Because some people prefer Collie types and others Saluki,its nice to have a choice and not be prejudiced by what may better suit another.For my tuppence worth the addition of Border is paramount in my dogs,the addition of Deerhound and Greyhound,if balanced out,meets all my requirements now,i do miss my Saluki/Greyhounds,but they no longer meet my needs.

You obviously know nothing about coursing if you asking, what does a saluki add that collie dosnt. There is no comparison when it comes to hare killing.

I don,t agree, adecent collie type will run clever just as well as any saluki type, whether up and at them or other wise

aye you got me, not sure fen types are the be all though, when you,re talking about a LURCHER rather than a coursing type, a decent collie type will take hare regular

If you,re in the fens yes then maybe I can see the point but for a general lurcher in the true sense I can,t see the point of the saluki ?

I'd always go for the collie type because of ground I hunt on, Saluki just wouldn't suit, but if I had bigger land and bigger stuff to run a nice collie/saluki mix wouldn't be out the question.

I think on the bigger game on bigger land the "right" mix would always be the choice, the saluki would add quicker recovery I think.
