zini 1,939
Hi lads, Due to the mixed comments I and Davy have received over the Nite – Hunter Digi Add post we posted a few days ago on the Hunting Life Forum we thought that I would give you all a quick sneak preview of what we have been up to with the unit while testing it. This is only a tiny bit of what we’ve done with this great little unit so far. I realise 3 to 4 weeks is a long time to wait for the full review and the lads want to see the unit working so here is your chance now quickly before me and Davy really get our teeth into the proper review. It will also hopefully put people’s minds at rest and give you the confidence in the unit that I (Si) has. Firstly I must say that what ever quality you think the footage is (very good, good or average), when you are actually looking through the Add on its much clearer. Twice as clear is a good steer and not a over statement. The footage is down graded by my normal editing software not having the codex for the mini DVR players file format so I have had to use Windows Media Player first to convert the files then bring them into my normal editing software once the file format is recognised. The mini DVR is also not HD, but a HD unit can be purchased at an extra cost if needed for awesome quality recording. If you’re just happy to shoot and not worry about having HD video to watch after you will be amazed at the quality of the unit when you put your eye to the unit. It’s super clear, bright and focused and I know will surprise a lot of people when they witness it themselves. This footage is what you will be able to record like with the standard model going on sale from Nite – Hunter. I still think it’s very good even with the standard mini DVR, especially to say i filmed the footage here on x10 scope mag (so high mag) with the Digi Add on zoomed in quite alot on alot of the rabbits and the fox. zini 1,939
Cheers Steve . I’ve just also noticed that on the 61 yard rabbit and the 70 yard rabbit I hadn’t lifted the laser enough for that range (i.e zeroed it at them ranges) as it was only set up for 32 yards, the ranges I thought that I would be rabbit shooting that night. Just think of the potential here lads. The facts The laser was low (on zero) it needed lifting and the dimmer was turned down at both them ranges and you could still see the rabbit fully at them ranges, very clearly actually through the unit itself.. Remember what I said the actual eye seen footage through the unit is twice as good and clear as the recorded footage. This is not an over statement and I’m happy for lads to meet me and see for themselves if needed. The more people that see this unit working and verify how good they think it is the better in my book. If I would have lifted the laser a slight bit and turned up the IR them rabbits would have been illuminated like they were out at a night at the proms LOL . Si. torchey 1,328
Looks pretty good for not a lot of money,do you know when they go on sale?? Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
All being well with the engineering, Nite - Hunter estimates around 8 weeks time torchey. This gives the engineer time to machine the proper finished unit and make some slight improvements. Si. Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Yes you need a illuminator Chris. I've now tried 6 ir sources as of tonight and they all work to various degrees mate. The more powerful the illuminator the better though. The lasers are the best for power and brightness but the lamps with filters give a better full picture for recording mate IMP. I know that soon Anthoni is bringing out a new lamp which should give a very good full pic at air rifle ranges. Si. Quote Link to post
