my arms are fine thank you.

Gym memberships nationwide go up every year by about 25% in the months of Feb/March......so your not alone ;)

In all seriousness........people always say if you want big arms do curls......but the fact is the triceps muscle makes up two thirds of the upper arm....the biceps makes up one third..........so forget curls.

You dont even need weights.......Dips for triceps, pull ups for biceps.

Never knew that fact about the tricep/ bicep mate but I can quite clearly see it forming now. End of this week I will have been at the gym for a month and going 5 times a week. I've noticed not a massive difference in my bicep but lots in my tricep which overall is making the arm look bigger. Also my chest and back there's a difference as my weights are increasing. Happy days!!!!

id say the protein from all the semen you swallow will help too :D

f**k off...... Lol

Might have something to do with eating properly and a protein drink. Can someone tell me when it's best to drink this by the way. I've been drinking it after. It's a mass protein drink. Cheers.

I'm not into it myself, but often wondered how is the best way to get bigger forearms and biceps?

I can recomend the Jennfer Ellison's fat blaster work out video, After just three weeks the effects are already starting to show...

I don't care what any internet expert or fitnesd guru says, you need to do CORE lifts,

The following exercises are the biggest and best, Don't just try to build up biceps and triceps or you'll look like one of them twats with big arms and puny everything else.

Do Bench Press (builds chest and triceps)

Overhead Press (also called military press)

Squats (one of the biggest and best lifts to do. Increased production of your testosterone and HGH)

Deadlifts ( a massive core lift)

Barbell bent over rows

Look up a routine called Starting Strength.

Read it properly and in detail do not just skip through it.

Eat about 1 gram of protein for every lb of your LEAN body mass.

You will gain results all over and look better than someone who does 10 different types of bicep curls everyday of the week.

been training for around 3 1/2 years now and you wont beat a good well structured all over plan that includes plenty of compound movements, meaning working large muscle groups in one movement ie deadlifts, squats and overhead presses. Arms grow better when all the muscle groups are worked in proportion. Change the plan around every several weeks to stop the body becoming lazy and the muscles adapting, they need to be restressed to signal growth and continue to develop. Do your cardio, at least to 45 min sessions a week. Then the most neglected part, eat clean and well balanced with plenty of protein. It takes a while to notice any real physical changes but you will see a big change in energy, strength and confidence levels fairly quickly.

if your eating cleanly, you dont really need to worry about calories, eat 5 or 6 small meals a day, keep your protein high, dont eat any carbs after 4, cut all sugary foods and sauces. dont drink if you can, if you cant, change from beer to spirits and if you need to mix it with something go for coke zero/ 7up free or similar, and the most important thing is to drink water, aim for at least 3.5 liters a day.

I've not had a drink for about 6 weeks now.... Am choking... Lol

The water thing is a b*****d for me as I can't drink the water in the house cause it's from a well and f**k that. So I have to get bottled water and that's not cheap if your going through they amounts. I only drink diet irn bru, have one take away a week, one bag of crisps a week, no chocolate or sweets. I reckon I eat about 1500/2000 kcal a day. I do a 10k on the bike before I do any weights. Can't wait till I've been doing it a year to see the difference......:-)

you will shift a fair amount of water weight after about a week of drinking the water, could be near a half a stone, imo its worth it. a reverse osmosis filter system fitted to your sink will clean your water, dont think they are that expensive either. also your should be on the bike after the weights instead of before.

I know exactly what it means thanks, Your LEAN body mass is the mass of your muscles, bones and all the connective tissue that makes it up , you get it by taking away the % of fat you have.

So if your 200lbs and 20% body fat then you need to eat 160grams of protein a day. If you want to bulk up you need to find out what calories you need to stay the same weight (Your maintenance) then add in about 500 extra, this with the right amount of protein and you should see results

Whats that from the 80,s ?......The general rule of thumb used to be 1.5 grams protein per lb bodyweight.........ie,a 200lb man would be needing 300 grams protein per day........however,keeping in mind the body can only assimilate 30 grams of protein in any 3 hour period........8 x 30 gram meals per day still leaves you short.

A newcomer to lifting should simply eat a solid balanced diet and not get hung up on grams of protein.............

Dont forget every time you bench press its actually giving the triceps a far harder workout than the chest, even though its a chest exercise........best triceps exercise ive ever done is skullcrushers.....look it up or ask in your gym if your not familiar with it......biceps is a muscle specific exercise it doesnt get worked hard when working other body parts so you dont see immediate growth like with triceps.

5 times a week is too much for a beginner in my opinion......intensity is more important than frequency when your starting out.

Good on you anyway hope you stick at it

Cheers I'll check that. My mate has been going for 2 years now and his arms are slot bigger than he used to be that's for sure. I reckon he is lifting 10kg more than me on most weight excercises.

When you say intensity do you mean 2hrs at the gym 3 times a week or what? I do push myself when I'm there, especially when the both of us are pushing the other on, but I don't slack when I'm myself either.

Cheers for the tips though.
