If i had to get them from the vets, and pay vets prices, then no i wouldn't,(initiall vaccination as puppy's when done properly will be sufficient in my humble opinion) getting them elswewhere as you can, i do, not for insurance validity, just to tilt the scales in my favour a bit should any dreaded lurgy ever rear its head locally. Again there has been arguments both ways on here over the years, but someone on here who was connected to the market place / manufacturing of the vaccines stated that there was no need for annual boosters, its just a money making scam. As the old adage goes, "Yer pays 'yer money, 'yer takes 'yer choice".

we ll for sake of £ 70 quid a year (2) dogs, its feck all is it. And if you got good dogs that work well its worth it. But i suppose when the dogs are about 8 years old, and prob not working as much as the younger ones, you could miss them. And i think over a time say 6 years , the( immune system) prob worked from the jabs. But working dogs that could go differnt places and meet other dog, keep them jabbed up

Im against it tbh...The original vaccination as a puppy should suffice...Ive seen literature and video,s of boosters being scientifically proven to being of no value whatsoever. Also the fact that as working dogs they should be in a good state fitness/health wise to be able to overcome most of the nasties that are thrown at it. jmo ..atb stabba

ive said this before, a spaniel breeder/trainer did an article a few years ago fot the shooting press, he had his dogs blood tested year to check the levels of immunity rather than just jabbing yearly, the conclusion was they need jabbing every 2 to 3 years, i do mine every 2 years now. for what it costs it carnt be a bad thing, ive seen very fit dogs go down hill very quickly to lepto.

I was jabbed for god knows what when i was at school, i,ve never had a booster since then and have been in good health all my life [that,ll be the kiss of death  ] apart from a few STDs  caught off toilet seats :hmm: , i,ve never had a booster in any of my dogs over the years and never lost one to illness, after saying all that, if i had money to burn [ which i dont] i,d proberbly go for it, i would think a fit dog on a good diet should do fine.

With there being a recent outbreak of parvo round the country and also a couple of dogs coming down with and quite a number of ferrets dieing of

distemper i wouldn't hesitate to get the booster done, most vets do the 3 year vaccine now anyway, only thing your boosting for in between

is lepto.
