Thanks to modern technology ie internet mobile phones eye in the sky and idiots i believe not meny more nails can be hammerd in its coffin before the lid is finally down.

As long as night follows day there will always be some lad stalking the fields with his mongrel trying to catch a wild beast. In some people the instinctual desire to hunt is as deeply ingrained in th

More and more legislation. More expensive!   The nail in the coffin for the kids coming up will be 'society' or so called education where they are encouraged less and less to go outside awway from t

a lad put a post on here once saying i only walk my dogs, dont work them as he had seen me on my permision and the dogs were on leads, i think the post answered itself. even with permision you carnt be to carefull when in public view. watching your back all the time isnt good but its a must in todays society, i will carry on to the end, however that comes. i enjoy it to much to stop its in my blood like most of the lads i know.

The phrase "media hysteria" has occurred twice now.

The media pander to public opinion.

Making something illegal gives the "righteous", ammunition to persecute their nemsis (don't know the plural off hand sorry.)

Back in the 70s and just into the 80s drink driving was not a major issue. Now its a stigma no one wants to be labelled with. (NOT advocating drink driving!)

Values and beliefs constantly change like fashion. The hunting ban will never be repealed it is something we will have to live with. I suspect however that the antis will find another cause to fight and the anti hunting mob will diminish. Sensible use of dogs will be tolerated by sensible folk and the police will leave alone unless there is a blatent abuse of the law.

Perhaps there may well be a cleansing of the sport. The idiots will find something else to do Planking I hope!

The real folk will continue and legends will be made still. Famous dogs will be remembered by the few but most importantly it will carry on.

20 years from now we may well be a minority culture that needs protecting!

I for one won't stop. I'm not alone I know.

Does fox hunting still go on?.........................................................of course it doesn't!..........DOES IT?!

Not sure which way round it is but I think the media stir up hysteria about all kinds of stuff depending on the flavour of the week.

If I was in to conspiracies I would say its a great way to control the masses ;)

They instil (deliberately or not) fear of everything in to people, these days people don't wany their kids playing out, scared of roads, scared of dogs, scared of guns, scared of muslims even

If people are scared they stay inside

what do people think the lurcher and shooting game will be like in 10 years time ???? i think its wont be good, there seems to be an agender going on with the media to show as much bad press on dogs and fieldsports as it can. you only have to look at the crap thats being shown on the tv and printed in the papers, lurcher work is in my opinion should have stayed in the shadows as im afraid its publicity will be its downfall. whin commented on this a good few times and i for one think he was correct.what do you think?.

I read a article a few months ago headed "Where has all the shotgun certificates gone?" aparantly record numbers of SGC's are handed in or not renewed each year :icon_eek:...

I can't remember the figure but there was a good few thousand handed/Not renewed in last year alone. even thought about it myself a few times as I can count on one hand the amount of times I get out with the shotty these days but its still nice to have a gun and not use it so much than not have a SGC and gun at all...

must say I am getting the urge again lately with the amount of pigeons coming ionto the woods  .........

Don't have to be into conspiracies Nik1

Who owns the papers?

Where do they get their news?

As I have said before. NEVER believe what the papers say.

That's why I don't read them.

If you want to hear the news listen to the world service.

That's about as close to the truth as you can get. As so many folk in isolated dictates rely on it for the truth Which is why its banned in many countries.

If people stopped buying the F***** rags such as the mail, the sun.....Oh f*** it all of them maybe just maybe we would get some impartial comment rather than the script from gov't!

Where's Donk when you need him?

there was a point when I was bang into my shotty then it all went tits up in one year. I lost two lots of good qualty land to different shooting syndicates who not only stopped my shooting, both the hawking and fishing on one estate went tits up too....

Don't get me wrong its their call what they do when they lease a shoot, even the farmer seemed powerless to change anything probably due to the contract and money for the lease. remember bumping into the new keeper on there when I first took my hawk on there at the beggining of the season, he screamed up in his landy with the first words "what the f**k are you doing on here" obviously it kicked off a bit until he radio'd through to the farmer who asked for me to pop in and see him, it was then I was told basically not to come on anymore.

still pretty disapointed about this one as I walked this land for a good 20 years and had it all took away from me, in a way I also feel a bit disapointed the farmer couldn't do more but then I suspect the money he was offered did the talking.

I have a few bit I still shoot on and enjoy getting out now and again but its nothing like the places I lost :cray:......
