christian71 3,187
Hi mate, go to doctors as soon as possible. I didn’t and have just spent 4 days in hospital, had to have surgery on my knee to clean out a burst abscess. My knee is open to the bone as they don’t close up infected wounds. Having to attend out patients three times a week for dressing changes and is going to take months for it to heal up and then have to have physio to get movement back in knee. All because I got something in knee whilst shooting, and ignored it for a week. Good luck, get it seen to. shit yis have me worried now ,i think i'm gona go and make an appointment This fella said its nowt much to worry about

JohnGalway 1,043
Get yourself to a doctor ASAP before you end up with blood poisoning. Almost been there and I wouldn't wish it on anyone many. Cut my hand once horn branding ewe lambs, ended up needing a small operation or loose the hand/possibly arm. Bosun11 537
Blackthorn is bad for man and beast..... f**k is that 4 real rotted the dogs eye right out? It is for real but it's not rotted the dogs eye out..! The eye was taken out through being pierced by Blackthorn and was stitched (you can still see some). But a flimsy 'lampshade' and a bomb head of a dog with an itchy eye don't mix, so he smashed his head against the kennel and finally got that itch scratched..! It caused the stitches to burst and all that was left was to leave the empty socket to heal, don't look to pretty there but it was always clean and healed very well. Malt 379
Don't f**k about with blackthorn. If you haven't managed to get it out within a few days and you start getting swelling/numbness/tingling spreading out from it, get to the doctors..

SINDASOX 256
I had a thorn in my elbow a few weeks ago while out ferreting, i tried to get it out but i couldn't see nothing, it must have embedded in quite deep, i tried squeezing and prodding to try and get the fecker out but it started to heal over, i kept opening up the hole to try and see if i could get it out but i couldn't see nothing there....well anyway it healed up again and after about a week i was leaning down on the floor on my elbow in the living room and i felt a bit of pain, i looked on the floor and there it was, quite a large thorn that must of worked it's way out, but was nowhere to be seen while i was trying to get it out. Also had another one in my finger recently that you could just see the black tip of it, tried to get it out with a needle, but i couldn't budge it and when it starts to bleed you cant see the tip of it then, well that one healed over as well and after about a week i squeezed the area and a huge thorn popped out.
