At what age?

Recommended Posts

Depends what you mean by 'out'. Out working? Out walking? Out learning field craft: fences, stiles, ditches, water etc

Personally I get my pups out and about in the countryside from around 10 weeks, little walks at first, then longer. I've even carried small pups in a game bag under my arm so we can go further even when they shouldn't walk any more. The more you expose them to the world around them at an early age, the more confident and able they will be as adults. They get to see rabbits caught by the older dogs, they learn to follow scent. You just need to be sensible and know not to force or allow a pup to do more than is good for it at any given age.

Well basically I wanna take him out so he can see whT goes on ect, but keep him on lead, get him used to other dogs running while he's not

as skycat said the more he sees at an early age the easyier it will be when hes old enough to run himself, i take mine out as soon as they are able to, as long as you keep an eye on them there fine, plus it will learn far more out in the field than stuck in a run/garden for 7 or 8 months.
