Born Hunter 17,907
Pretty simple question, if you met a girl that you really had chemistry with, she was damn near perfect in every way and everything about her was just right for you. Ya know the sort that from day one it's all just so natural and exciting, never a doubt sorta thing. BUT..... shes an anti! Too good to be true indeed! Do you really think you could make it work? Would you want to try to make it work? Could you live with her and put your difference aside? Would it have a serious effect on the relationship if you did give it a fair crack? Anybody got any interesting experiences with this? Same question for the ladies, only reverse it? Or not if thats your taste, lol.

Malt 379
All depends on whether or not she was open minded enough to be able to respect your views, opinions and the fact you weren't going to change.. You don't have to agree with something to accept that other people have a right to do it if they want to.

You don't have to agree with something to accept that other people have a right to do it if they want to. Gotta say, I was gonna wait for a few more replies but thats exactly how I feel Malt. Hunting/shooting/the country is my passion, I couldn't possibly enjoy life without it to some degree and there is no changing that. But there are antis and then there are antis! Ignorant, outspoken self rightuous antis I can't even be in the same room as but those that accept this is the way I am whether they agree or not I can get on with just fine and the 'debates' make it that much more interesting. I've got good friends that are veggys and even 'soft' antis (if thats even a term) and we get on fine and don't have to avoid the topic of hunting. I could live with a soft accepting anti but a hard core ignorant anti...... Hell f*****g no!

trenchfoot 4,243
I do! been together 20 years. She is anti for the same reasons I am not. Does not agree with factory farming, couldn't stand to see an animal suffer. Couldn't kill anything. Her response to it is that she is vegi, and does not wear leather etc. She is non to chuffed to unexpectedly find game hung up in my workshop, but knows what goes on to put true meat on the table. Rarely does it cause any bother. The shit hits the fan when people question our opposing views, still eat meat, but if it's something I have brought home, either from the field or our own livestock, and they turn their noses up at it! she goes apeshit. by the way she is not a raving looney, protesting anti!!!!!!!!!!! If she was I would have been forced to re-balance her with an ounce of lead behind the ear. It would be the kindest thing to do Edited October 24, 2011 by trenchfoot
Lab 10,979
Along the same lines of Born Hunter and Malt really....... Not for 1 minute do i have any time for the real anti lot. The veggie eating fluffy bunny loving tree hugging side that cant be reasoned with.... But the chances of meeting a girl in a club/pub that has totally different views from yourself must be pretty high but aslong as they were willing to let me get on with it then that would be great. Since we moved onto the Game Farm itself its not unknown for my dinner plate to go flying in the air and me rushing to get the gun cabinet open because a fox is prowling around the pens....she doesn't bat an eyelid..

rob190364 2,594
Not a proper anti no, going out hunting involves being out a fair bit....even if the bird said she was easy going and wouldn't intefere in what you do as time went by she would start resenting it and it'd cause issues. Like her arranging things when she knows you're planning on going hunting etc. F'ckin hell, most birds are hard enough to live with as it is....never mind having someone with such and an extremely opposite view. But in reality, most birds say they don't agree with hunting but have never really thought about it in depth and in truth aren't really that arsed. They just wouldn't like seeing fluffy bunnys killed. Mine came ferreting with me once, cried when I killed a rabbit, hasn't been since but wouldn't in a million years try to stop me going. Personally though, even though me and my mrs never argue and get along fine, I'm glad she's not big into hunting.....it's OK having the same views on some things but being out hunting or fishing is my time, it's my escape.....I don't really understand why you'd want your mrs out in the field with you to be honest. You're best off having a mrs that doesn't disagree with hunting, but doesn't do it either....IMO
