mackem 30,104
I have worked away this year, mainland europe, been back about a month and feel claustrophobic, always moved around, never really settled in one particular place,i have the opportunity of moving to Canada but whether thats the long-term answer I dont really know,Ontario has crownland(public can hunt there)four times the size of the UK,roughly 350,000 sq miles, somewhere you can really breath I think. Anyone contemplating doing a flit, pastures new, where are you thinking of going? What will you do?Anyone beed and returned(I have done that a few times)regretted coming back?I think currently net immigration is running higher than net emigration with 239000 more coming to these shores in 2010 than left for greener land, and theres only so much room on this small island. gnasher16 31,602
I spent some time a little further up from Ontario in Manitoba many years back......too cold for me....spent a few years in different parts of America around the same time.....in more recent years spent a lot of time in the Greek Islands and Spain, been saying for years im going to do the off but every time i spend some time away.......... cant believe im saying it ,but i start to miss crisp frosty mornings, pie and mash down the Hammers and the many other great things i hold close to the heart about England. Still wouldnt write it off but the longer i leave it the less im likely to do it......................try it Mackem,if it dont work out come back nothing has to be forever these days

mackem 30,104
I'm moving over to pakistan! Oddly enough I did just that once Graham, worked in Peshawar right on the edge of the khyber-pass in NWFP territory, had a great time but I was single and without kids then. too cold for me Thats the only downside,I was in Ottawa one winter,it was -35 with windchill, not my idea of fun at all,but this country is slowly going tits-up,time will tell I guess.
