come on bet loads of you have done this

This threads really cheered me up, I thought I was on my own when things like this happen.

I remember walking my mutt up to within a few feet of a squatter, slipping him and then watching him as he trod on the bunny without seeing it. The rabbit jumped up and hit him in the face and scared the s**t out of him. :icon_redface:

(It also escaped :icon_redface::icon_redface: )

remember going out with your first ever lurcher on that first night to get it going on the lamp and hoping beyond all hope it catches and retrieves its first bunny right into the palm of your hand so

OMG that is hilarious   Worst thing is i have envisaged doing the same thing with my pup when she starts this season, will let you know which of us catches the most between her & me

iv lost count the amount of times iv tried to POINT something out to the dog only for it to look at you as if to say "what the f**k am i supposed to be looking at"

REMEMBER ONE NIGHT OLD DOG TURNED A HARE INTO THE BEAM HARE CAME UP THE BEAM FULL TILT MISSED ME BY INCHES.

DOG DIDNT THOUGH 70ILB SAL/GREW HIT ME RIGHT IN THE THIGH,WENT DOWN LIKE A DOMINO THOUGHT THE FECKER HAD BROKE MY LEG.

I COULD HAVE POSSIBLY CRYED THAT NIGHT.

MY TWO MATES WERE CRYING ASWELL,WITH LAUGHTER.BAYSTERD,S :whistling:

Once entered my old collie x into a hunt charity lurcher race. It was held on a rambled old farm. First race she ran sideways straight to the finishing line and waited for the lure. Second time around tried winding her up with said furry washing up bottle. Told them all to stand back as she was going to fly this time, as she looked wired and focused. Slipped her and she shot off and grabbed a chicken from under a shed! Despite bringing back unharmed I took an immense amount of piss takingcry.gif

I'm still doing it now.

I done it two weeks ago slipped the pup hoping for the best, he ran straight past rabbit got up, i gave chace shouting my pup and luckely he came from the darkness missed it on the first turn with a crazy strike then got it turning on the fence line finaly pushing it back througj the fence an nailing it, with me chacing and shouting go on lad haha

Or when i first started thought it was a good idea to jump over a bunny while the dog was on its arse, when the fuker hit me mid air causing me to somersault and crash into the floor all in a mangled heap.

yep no mentor here either so i hope to figure it out quick before i ruin my pup.

Can't wait to start her and sure there'll be plenty of mistakes on my part.

She'll be 9 months old next week, roll on next season :boogie:

i got a feeling your box may soon be full of invites,pm inbox i mean

Maybe if someone needs a good laugh

My friend just took a good vid of my pup messing around when we went out for a picnic by a river, pup got the crazy zoomies after going into water for the first time, unfortunately she stopped filming just before the pup leapt off a 5ft high bank at full speed and took my legs out from under me :icon_redface: I was lucky not to end up in the river and none of my mates would help me up as they were too busy p*ssing themselves laughing!

LMAO!! AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!!

Done that more than once! chasing down the field calling the dog on, desperately hoping they'll come charging past you before the rabbit gets to the hedge!

What you should do and what you actually do are two completely differant things!!

I'm sure an experienced Dogman would of first made sure the dog had actually seen it! but if the dog did over run the rabbit which then lifted, they would calmly flick the light off and call the dog back.... :icon_redface::notworthy:

Wizzies - when you want the boy dogs to take a leak quickly before bedtime

Zoomies - when they take off larking about for no apparent reason, hubby says they got a flea up thier arse

No idea where the sayings came from tho :icon_redface:

Last season i was out with my little beddy whippet and found a nice rabbit sat out so i lit it up, made sure he had seen it, slipped him and hissed "go on boy". Off he went and when he was half way there the rabbit gets up, darts past him and heads straight for me (i made sure i was between it and its bury) dog in hot pursuit. I tried shaking the light to put that rabbit off course, i tried shouting but it wouldnt change direction. Some of um know exactly where home is and wont let anything put them off dont they! As it reached me i swung my left foot at it to slow it down and milliseconds later little beddy whippet hits the bushes behind me. I spun round to see if he had caught it and sure enough he was empty mouthed. I whispered "bollox" to myself then called him over to put him back on the slip and i stepped back. My foot landed on something soft......the rabbit! My kick had broken its neck on the spot!

TTwo night ago i was lamping a golf course with my collie x. We were doing ok, working our way round, had a few runs and almost back at the car i lit up to see a rabbit sitting in the middle of a sand trap only 30 yards away and completely oblivious to us. SWEET thinks me! "Go on boy" i hissed and off he went. Straight past the still oblivious bunny. I shout his name with "you c**t" afterwards! Lol! He hears me and realises his mistake and looks round in time to see the now no longer oblivious bunny heading for cover! Lol! He did his best but no cigar that time.

Out for the first time alone with the whippet. Scared at feck coming through the woods to the farm. Over the fence and into the first field - visions of glory in my head, as you do. Lights up a rabbit sitting tight. Starts the excited, quick walk towards the target, dog's got his ears up but not sure what he's looking at. Rabbit lifts, running right towards some woods, dog pulls, so I slip!! ... and the b@stard ran left after a rabbit that he'd heard but I hadn't seen, into the darkness and away before I know what's happening. I'm swinging the lamp round like a lunatic and, forgetting myself, I shout 'what are you doing you thick twat!' and scare off anything within a mile radius.

Needless to say, it was a long and frustrated walk home
