chartpolski 28,366
Went to Westerhope Whippet Club this morning, as usual, and was pleasanly supprised to see a lady and gentleman with a fine pair of Ibizan Hounds there ! They were both dogs, and one was about 28" tall, the other was a 10 month pup, but fine looking dogs. I was supprised at how tall they were, I thought they would be quite a bit smaller. Haven't got a clue what they would work like, but the owners said they will be running them on rabbits. I didn't have a camera, but I'll make sure I get some pics next time. I think it's great that people are bringing in these "exotic" breeds ! Cheers. Quote Link to post

bird 10,014
Brill that, just what a lurcher should do in the day .I think there must some in Bryn or kangaroo , the way he bounces about when mooching .There retrieving was brill as well, no other dogs got funny over the rabbit .put one of them to salukixgrey, run+catch all night for you. .I know a lad who lives in spain now, and he told me that they do lose few (killed+badly hurt) on the rocks. But he said if they are bust up they dont bring them back, they just leave them there. Dont know how true it is . Quote Link to post
DOGGINLAD 538
That pic is a cracker of her about to pick her nose 1 Quote Link to post
chartpolski 28,366
I know what you are talking about, Bird, mine bounce up and down in the oil seed then suddenly take off and it sometimes results in a catch, but good fun nontheless !! The Spanish have got a bad rep with cruelty to animals, and there's bad reports about how they treat Galgos that don't make the grade, perhaps they treat Ibizans the same way... I hope not ! Cheers. chartpolski 28,366
nice looking hound . think they are very vocal when hunting! Heard the same thing; and I don't think they have anything to offer in the way of Lurcher breeding, but it WAS nice to see a pair of them at the track and have a good conversation with the owners. The guy also has a working Lurcher and a couple of working Patts; the Ibizans are his wifes. Cheers. Quote Link to post

No not realy as none of them became any different to other sighthound lurchers. One that i went out with on a few occasions could be a bit wreckless as well. Quote Link to post
