BORDERSCOT 3,816
I feed Gain Greyhound 28 and raw minced chicken - wings and quarters, beef, lamb - lamb breast, rabbit, heart, liver, kidney, tripe, tinned mackerel, sardines, tuna and I add a bit of veg, pasta, rice or brown bread. Beef and lamb bones and cod liver oil twice or thrice a week. Keep it interesting and varied and you'll be fine. Not sure you can overfeed a thriving lurcher puppy tho? I have an 8 week old first cross collie greyhound puppy at the minute and I'm feeding him 4 times daily - 6am, 11am, 4pm and 9pm. Never seen such a hungry puppy - eats, shits and sleeps with the mad half hour in between. That's the way it should be. Good luck with your puppy mate.

If using complete go for a good one, that the first ingredient is Meat, also the advice you have been given is sound.

scalesntails 118
If you are going to feed commercial then buy the best you can afford. With puppies I let them eat as much as they can in 20 mins 3 times a day. If they empty the bowl top it up but after 20 mins take it away even if they haven't touched it. Don't worry about overfeeding with a pup as most of it will go into growth. I tend to keep pups chunkier than I would an adult dog so I know they are getting enough nutrition. If you are feeding dry then throw a few extra bits in here and there. They will appreciate a few tins of sardines a week and as already said tinned tomatoes go down well. The two dogs I have raised from puppies will eat literally anything I give them but the one I bought a bit older is slightly fussier but getting better. It's good to get them used to as much different things as you can while they are young. Everyone does it differently but at the end of the day you are the judge of whats best to feed your dogs as responsible owners will know their dogs better than anyone else.
