speaking pre-ban obviously.... i wouldnt have thought "i need a bull or deerhound to drop a deer" fair enough they CAN do it. I think i would go for medium sized dog like greyhound/saluki/whippet something of that sort maybe with a bit of collie thrown in. That would be if the deer i was hunting were roe. For fallow i would have two :D :11:

 

I've never been a fan of bullx's but the dog i have now has got a wee bit of bull in her.

 

I've never been intrested in foxes, never will be, just the way i am.

always thought the 2 sighthounds that were the keenest or most naturaly inclined to take larger quarry was the deerhound and the saluki,I remember in the late 70's there were a few deerhound/saluki/greyhound's crosses in this area of scotland,seen one work and it was exceptional.

out and out fox dog got to be a bull x for me dont do deer never have and never will just isnt my thing so cant comment on that bit :)

i'm with the poacher on this one.....you can't beat a good bull x :clapper:
