had this problem originaly too,got told this method- pull bolt right back, still holding bolt, squeeze trigger to decock action, slide bolt home, now safe. has same effect as breaking a springer and holding the barrel to decock.

a freind of mine used an old cement mixer, worked well for large quantity.

better with a 3/4 grey 1/4 deerhound and choose a bitch pup.

Ican agree with wildfowler i know the breeder jock as well ,well bred good type, doxhope seen the mother too a couple of year ago, if you looking for good quality working type deerhound you cany go wrong or as base blood to start a genuine working strain of deerhound cross lurcher. dont want to get embroiled in the argument but dont like to see a potential top class 'working' type deerhound that could be the basis of 1st class deerhound lurcher cross getting a bum deal. a steal for someone!

proven worker to proven worker and you cant go wrong,my current dog 3/8 collie (beardie/border) 5/8 grey is exceptionally fast and ive had a few collie crosses- 1/4 border 3/4 greyhounds that had bags of stamina but were as slow as some first crosses also front feet a bit suspect as identical foot injuries reapearing with almost identical bred litters. dont know yet as my 3/8 5/8 only 14 month and untested but hes as big or bigger (27") than some 3/4 breds and as fast or faster than the border 3/4 crosses av had in past and got great feet.

putting this up for a neebour, whose transport only offers to a pick up in scotland. and its true collie crosses hard to find without travelling,planning another pup meself next year,got a 3/8 5/8 beardie/border type good compromise for the fields in fife but still got the feet to face the "hill" , and the heart for 30-40 rabbits lamping up perthshire as any fifers on here will agree is a wee bit rough,anyway cheers for replying.
