kebab meat is human grade lamb, granted not your prime cut but human grade none the less and would be absolutely fine to feed to the dogs every day ... yes they may get the shits for a while until their stomachs get used to the new food but as for being bad for them thats nonsence ... throw a few raw bones into the mix a few times a week and add a little fruite and veg and the dogs will look very good on that diet .........

It's what they add to it that's the problem, huge amounts of salt and spices which would upset dogs stomachs.

very high salt content..........too much could be fatal !!!!

granted...common sense tells you to feed very little and mix it with somthing else.

but personally........i wouldnt give any....but thats just my opinion.

and if the kebab shop has surplus.........does that mean they cant even sell it drunks ??

then thats a different story ... i was working off the fact it was pure meat ... if it has added salt spices etc then i would give it a miss .....

I'd agree, in the first instance it sounds ideal, human grade meat for free, but alas it’s likely to contain a lot more than meat and the salt content would have the dogs blood pressure around the busta blood vessel level….. As an addition now and again, as with the usual table scraps, fine but I’d not use it regularly.

Cheer Sandymere.

I used to work with a friend whose parent owned a famous Kebab shop in North london. They used to take out the big skewer which would be delivered to them. They cook a bit and then store it overnight, bring it out again and cook it, same everynight. Not something I would go back to eating.

Needs to be heavily salted to keep it going that long.

You might turn your dog into a cannibal  . I thought Kebabs were 50% dogmeat, 40% sawdust and 10% lamb fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it will defo give the dog the shites big time and yes it has lots of fat in but dont think its any good for the dog this type but im no expert but it will defo get the shits off it

never gave any of mine the shits. the fat is from lamb so how wouldnt it be any good?

each to their own but i have fed it and worked dogs that was fed on it and had no problems at all.

would i feed it again...... definatly yes .

The fat wouldn’t necessary be a problem, fat is an important part of the diet, although it might cause loose stools especially if the dog were not used to it. It’s the salt that I would see as problematic plus if vegetables were used to flavour/bulk the recipe then onion would be a likely addition and that is another no no for dogs. High sodium diets would be a risky gamble for a working lurcher but as ever it’s each to their own decisions based on their own interpretation of the risks.

Garlic, herbs and spice/chilli certainly wont do any dog any harm in moderation, may give them the shits a bit but it certainly helps towards keeping them worm free imho....I have now got the worming periods extended and they never have worms (I think one instance in I dont know how long)

I would rather keep giving them spices of various kinds than worming drugs.....as has been said, I suppose kebab meat fed exclusively possibly may not be ideal, but as part of a good mixture of everything I think it would be fine.

In the winter, I will melt down a block of lard to pour over the dogs dinner......in human terms that cant be good, but the dogs love it and it keeps the engine room burning.

Whatever, kebab meat can not be any worse for an animal than dry.
