FightTheBan 1,147
Depends who else lives with you, what your responsibilities are etc. Few years back I was living on £150 a week quite comfortably, but I have no ties so that makes a difference. FTB

FightTheBan 1,147
the more you got the more you spend Exactly. Some people are no better off with twice as much as the next man because they live too extravagantly. What you got in mind fieldsportsman? FTB

A lot of experienced drivers working in farming at the minute are from the construction industry who will go back when it picks up. I think whatever you decide you should at least do a year or two at college, hopefully by the time you leave you will have a more level head, know what you want to do and the work situation will be in a better state of affairs. A lot of money to be made in farming if you specialise in something and more importantly you are 'good at your job'. Make a name for yourself and the skys the limit. I done a conservation type degree and the market is saturated at the minute. It seems to be the 'in thing' at the moment. FTB

But on the other hand if he were to start driving now by the age of 21 he would be an asset and very desireable. Just a thought. If its money you want and you dont want to go down the 'academic route' then start dricving now and learn fast. A young lad who can work long hours and drive high spec agricultural machinery is well sought after. Just my opinion. FTB
