bucky 11
Seen a thread on here a few weeks back to send a letter to our local mp's to see where they stand on the hunting act and to voice our opinions , which i did and and got a reply from my labour mp stating she was fully behind it and if it did come to repeal she would vote for the act to stay in place and she stated in her reply that mr cameron had decided to drop it from his agenda, took that with a pinch of salt as it came from an mp, today i get an snp mp at the door looking for my vote, to which i ask him where they stand on the repeal he says "we are all for animal welfare and will be standing behind the act" i then inform him that i am a hunter and he has come to the wrong door, when he then back tracks and tells me that the snp only have 6 mps in the house of commens and thats where the act will have to be overturned, it doesnt involve scotland, when i point out that in london his 6 seats will still be against the repeal he tells me "david cameron has now decided to drop the repeal of the hunting act". can anyone tell me if this is correct. has the vote to overturn the act been dropped. scalesntails 118
If we had given the Conservatives money because they promised to do something then they didn't do it we would have them arrested for fraud. It should be the same with election pledges and votes.

guyliath 15
I'm thinking of writing a letter to mr. Cameron, about exactly this. Can't do any harm. But then again, all these politicians only care about themselves. I would love to hear about any other mos reactions to this question. Anyone with any similar experiences out there? Attack Fell Terrier 864
If they really have decided not to push for a repeal on the Hunting ban after what they said before, then the Conservative sh*tbags are as bad if not worse than the filthy Labour scum we had in charge before them. I hate all of them.

rob190364 2,594
The problem is you have hunters that strongly support hunting, antis that strongly oppose hunting, but the people in between that don't have mega strong views are easily persuaded that hunting is cruel and if they have to pick between support or ban they'll always pick ban because they don't have the knowledge or understanding to see it from a balanced point of view. You ask anyone on the street if hunting a rabbit/hare/fox/deer should be allowed and they'll say no. I had a conversation with someone at work who said I was cruel for hunting rabbits and I asked her where does she thing the ham comes from on her sandwich, she said she doesn't care how the pig died as long as she doesn't know about it.....and that's a typical view of people in general. The won't repeal the hunting ban because if they did they'd lose all the antis votes as well as a bulk of the people in the middle who would read the anti propaganda and be on their side for the reason of ignorance. Doesn't matter what a politicians views are, everything they do is aimed at getting or keeping votes, whether it goes against their own views or not.
Guest Leveller
I don't think anybody "on the fence" would give a f**k, they cast their vote with health care, education, pensions etc: it's only the very passionate polar opposites who's vote would've been used with hunting in mind. The repeal will go into the house but what happens after that is left to mp's
