Oliver branch reply!

Recommended Posts

As many of you know I had another spectacular explosion over the fact that I had two IDs to find out what people thought of a possible sale that turned out to be a scam. Double06 was created so I could find out what the likelihood of the sale being genuine was. It turned out to be non-existant to downright impossible. I needed the fake ID to set up a thread to find out from the widest number of people there and keep off the scammers radar as both Mary and I were sending him private messages trying to get his full contact details.

We were after a certain gun that is not easy to find, even in RFDs! Simon told the fake ID I had that the trade was no good and we aborted and reported it to the local police, along with what evidence and bank details we had for the other user. They were not exactly overkeen to investigate, but we did stop another user on here sending the seller £120! Which was a relief.

Muppet here had not told anyone that he could not use spring powered rifles anymore because of tennis elbow caused by too much beach fishing. Muppet here should be honest and say his elbow joints on both arms are fairly shot, that way people would know why he suddenly went PCP! Mary also ccannot maintain enough hand pressure in a vertical pistol grip style (like the AA S200) to allow her to support the gun weight so she needed a different gun as well! Which is why we were looking for a Super Ten.

Instead of letting the matter drop with a light hearted reply, fool here got water in the lava which created superheated steam and did he blow or what? I was a complete muppet and I hold my hands up to that! Instead of thanking Simon for saving us money I went off on a vitriolic bent and ruined what was suppsoed to be a general warning post about a scammer. The one upshot was after we had ascertained his alleged address (fake), found the street he claimed he lived on did not have the house address and that the postcode was for a Ramada Inn (all in a town 30 miles away from where he said he lived), we stopped another user paying him for a ferret finder! So somebody was saved!

Simon was one of the first to reply and as usual was right. So many thanks Simon, and what did we do with the money that was saved? Mary got this!

One of 150 or so MK 2 Super Tens that was Realtree dipped for BSA by Hydrographics, a nice Carbine bag and a pump for £300. The scope is a BSA Contender 4-16x50mm, and it was up on a different website when the scammer placed his very similar advert, so I wonder where he got the details from?

Many many thanks Simon, you really put the brakes on with your simple advice of never hand over any cash until you have seen the damned gun! Quite simple really, but something easy to forget.

I to have a total prat, overly sensitive..

For once I going to be openly honest, I was diagnosed with Bi Polar about three years back, and have been on medication since, some days are good, some bad.. I manage to maintain a "normal life" whatever that is, working full time. So to be called a loony, on the wrong bus etc, cut to the quick a little.

This isn't an excuse though but an explanation for my psrt in the rant..

Simon was as always trying to be helpful, I took it the wrong way.. For which have apologize to him, and will happily do so again!!

All right lads, come on now. Think of the Polar opposites in your mind of joy and sorrow, the soaring heights of absolute pleasure and the plunging depths of hopeless despair, with nothing in between. Now magnify them and actually believe these are real and the worst is going to happen. Not funny and it can strike anyone at any time.
