Air Arms s410 classic 177

hi im very new to air rifle and i have picked up a air arms s410 classic in 177. been shooting at targets in the garden and hitting the centre every time. very happy with it. but is what i would like to know is will this be ok for rabbit and what are the best pellets for this rifle and how meany shots are you getting per charge???

O.k james, now your post is in the correct section, firstly congrats on buying arguably one of the best air rifles on the market. secondly, perfect for hunting all u.k air rifle quarry (put some target practace in first tho:thumbs: )

 

Not sure exactly how many shots I get out of mine, I think around 60-70 filling up to 190bar then pumping back up at 120bar, this being the optimum range on my rifle.

Mine loves aa field diablo pellets as a lot of others do also so I would try them first mate

thanks for the reply. when i fill the rifle up its only going to 150 do you think the refill bottle is maybe running low?? and i will look into getting the pellets and giving them a try as well.. again thanks...

Dont trust the gauge on the gun, trust the gauge on the filling bottle only

 

Fill your filling tank back up.

If the guage on the divers bottle only goes up to 150 when filling it prob does need a refil, as mark says go by the bottle guage not by the one on your rifle

i have just seen that the rifle i have is a carbine not a classic lol it was the 22 that was the classic. do you guys think its worth getting a bipod for it?? how meany have them on there rifles and do you use them???

hey,

 

i too have an AA S410, great rifle, amazingly accurate and also use aa diablo pellets. i have tried other pellets but those seem to work best.

strongly suggest getting bipod legs! i refused to get some for the first 4 months of shooting ads i thought i was able to just stablise the rifle with my hand. but i bought a "harris style swivel 6-9 inch bipod" off ebay mate. never looked back!

thanks for that the rifle is the nuts really liking it so far. i think i will pop out tomorrow and pickup some new pellets and a bipod. is there anything els i would need to pick up???

have you got a sling on it buddy? studs for the sling? silencer?

hi davy yes i have silener it has 1 stud on the front witch i think would be for a bipod. would a sling get in the way or not really???

James , a sling will fit onto a bi-pod or just the stud . You will need one in the butt also .

 

I also have an S410k in .177 and its a cracker , good luck with it , atb Buster

hi buster have you had any good clean kills with your rifle?? and what is the max pressure i should be putting in the rifle i have been only going to 190 at the moment...
