watchman 256
just to add, couple weeks ago i was walking mine in the local park, they dont really leave my side couple metres at the most, the pup will show interest in another dog passing by but the 2 1/2 year old bitch doesnt even give them a second glance, from behing the trees came a fat lumbering lump of an american bulldog type thing with a woman running behind it calling frantically,ok it wasnt running toward me aggressively but heading my way,she caught it up and grabbed its collar meanwhile i had put both mine on the slip,if anything was going to happen it would have been within kicking distance, she said she was sorry, although not quite sure for what at this point until she told me "i dont know what hes like with other dogs"now this thing must have weighed 10 stone and if looks could kill, well you get the jist, she explained it was a friends dog bearing in mind she was a sliver of a woman hitting her fifties, well f**k me how her attitude changed when i gave her the lecture, polite but firm as you do about being in control of such a beast and not knowing what its capable of,think her departing words were something along the lines of"f*****g telling me how to walk a bloody dog"oh well you do get them Feel sorry for the dogs in a way but i really hope she bumps into somebody with a serious couple of dogs and they get whats coming too them...... theres been many a time ,i,as a trakkie suit, baseball cap, trainer wearing chav bull x owner have thought the same thing,
Simoman 110
The thing is when those wind filled boxers do try it on with a "serious" dog, no doubt the owners of such dogs will be the ones dropped in the shit....
graham4877 1,181
Well i'm just back from an eventful walk with my dogs...... Walking along quite happily when i spots a woman and 3 boxers heading towards me,so i call all the dogs into heel and slow down. Next minute i've got 2 boxers running towards me and a panicing woman shouting on them.........Thinking the worst i grabbed the big dog and sat the other 3 down. Boxers run up to me and stop about 5 foot away growling......next minute the big 1 mounts my pup, all fine yet, no problems. Eventually the woman gets up and says "Oh what good dogs you've got"..............trained i think the word she was looking for.. Anyway the young pup tries to wriggle free from the boxer and it grabs him and pins him too the floor, her pup boxer steams in and grab my dog and he is howling like f**k, raging i got it off but it chased him and grabbed him again,so i got it off again!! Steam coming from my ears i tell her that she shouldn't have them off the lead if she cant control them.....her reply "You shouldn't have yours off the lead either then!"...........what a f*****g clown!!!! ahaha cheely bitch! don't know how you never lost it with her! littlefish 596
I suffer the opposite problem. Ossie has issues with other dogs, so if/when i see one coming the other way i put straight him on the lead. I would hate it if he was to attack another dog. He's calmed down a bit now, but i'm still on my guard all the time we're out. To have a go at you for defending your own dogs is pathetic. That is a very responsible attitude. Pity more people out there don't share it.

mushroom 14,163
If your labs become out of control like they did tonight at the scurries I'm not playing out  I'd of told her the next time it happens I'll knock 'em on the head with a weighted walking stick But have to say not all women are bad dog handlers, It's pet owners that have a tendency to be thick

Bulldogman 55
I had a golden retreiver attack my american bulldog who was on his lead last summer, the old boy told me his dog doesnt fight, he was three hundred feckin meters away down a slope and out of sight. I wouldn't have minded but he was being shown in Holland the following weekend. I lost my rag and let my off to pile in, but felt a bit bad afterwards....the bit that got me was the fact that he said "your not even from round ere!" (Brummy in Somerset??) You get them all the time but if i let mine go and it ends up in court it's the bully owners who look guilty!!

blan89 159
i have aggressive dog's and they never go off lead in public and are muzzled if there's likely to be any dog's about,it's dick heads like this woman that make life harder for all dog owners but especially responsible owners of aggressive dog's. I heard a good way to keep strange dog's away is to use a spray bottle or a bottle filled with stones,i just use my foot on it's nose.
WILF 50,843
Couldnt stand dog or people agressive dogs around me but that said, some of the best dogs I have seen have that glint in their eye that means you dont "totally" trust them.
