Alex Arrigone 24
this weekend has been one of highs and lows. this friday i had a nock at the door. after dragging myself out of bed to see who it was i opened the door to see a giant pair of BINO's attached to a guy. slightly confused i said hello. he soon went on his endless rant at me. i was speechless at what was happenening. he had heard that we were hunting on one of our permissions and took it upon himself to accuse us of killing innocent creatures for fun he went on to describe how all birds are protected (true), i politely explained to him that such pests as squirrels, pigeons, crows..... were legal to shoot for pest control reasons. i have done a lot of home work so i had the laws and facts to throw back at each comment he made. everything me and my mate hunt is above board and we repect the hunting rules. we had done nothis wrong, but in his eyes we were murderers. no matter what i said he still thought he was correct and ended his conversation by saying that we had got all our facts and rules from hunters and hunting websites (not true as we have been through BASC aswell and other means) and said that we were exploiting grey areas of the law. anyway in the end the idiot kindly removed himself from my property and i went about mmy day. the next my mate called over at our local and best permission and was met by the land owner. she invited him in and said we could no longer shoot on her land. when we asked why i nearly had a heart attack. the bird watcher from yesterday had found the permission and told a bunch of ludacris lies. the poor lady believed him through no fault of her own. end result... PERMISSION LOST angry is an understatment. new post to follow the the good events of the weekend, the moral of the story, guy in boots and wearing BINO's nocks at your door, hide. Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Should have strangled the c**t with his binos... Is there any chance that you could talk to the landowner? By giving you permission to shoot on her land, she has legally appointed you as an authorised person to control vermin. You say that she was told a 'bunch of ludicrous lies', but neglect to mention what these lies were... Quote Link to post

You say that she was told a 'bunch of ludicrous lies', but neglect to mention what these lies were... here are a few of the things he said... your not allowed to shoot crows as they are endangerd your not allowed to shoot collard grey doves he invented some laws that arent true either but i cant be accurate about what he said. either way, the lady is getting on a bit and she must have got a bit worried with the guy and thought it best we not hunt. i understand where she came from 100% Quote Link to post

Squirrel Shooter 5
That is infuriating! I expect that the bástard scared the poor woman into thinking that you were breaking the law. I would suggest calmly going round, box of chocolates in hand, and explain the situation to her - print out the law surrounding this issue if necessary. What ever you do don't surrender, it disgusts me that the antis would utilise such lowly tactics such as deceit. What a scum bag! Quote Link to post

We have talked to her and there is no chance now as she seems to think that our silenced air rifles are scaring away her small garden birds in a 5 acre plot of land.
