Food passes through a ferret within approx 3/4 hours so anything they eat the night before would be long gone.

They need food for energy if they are working a long shift, i used to give them a bit egg yolk and soya or goats milk in the morning just before going out and when in the field a bit warm heart, lungs or liver from a bunny just to keep them going

They also appreciate a drink of water every so often so take one of them dog bottle drinkers from the pound shop

Im with Leepie - ferrets get fed once a day in the evening. They're fine the next day for working. With every kill they get the liver.

same here, every two or three days feed them egg or dog meat in morning as a treat.

I feed mine as normal the night before then when I put them in their carry box the following morning I give them a little then to to keep em going.

Then while out hunting when I have a break and a cuppa, I give them a drink and a bite to eat too.

They still hunt and somtimes they kill down below but most of all they bolt the rabbits, but when they do kill they don't stay with them too long before they come up and out.

THATS WHAT I THOUGHT ILL KEEP THEM WELL FEED LIKE ALWAYS THEN IM GLAD MY FERRETS DONT KILL LIKE ALL OF URS MUST DO YOUR HEAD IN :icon_redface:

What happens when your ferrets come across a rabbit that refuses to bolt? Do they refuse to kill it because they are well fed?

Are you getting mixed up between killing and lying up on a kill.:icon_redface:
